  • Could I please get some advice on merchandising? I've done a few odd jobs before, but never where you have to be sent everything out.
I'm having a nightmare at the moment with this big wave of jobs on IMS. Jobs were supposed to start Monday, kept my week clear. All the stuff only arrived today, then most of it is missing, so I still cant start. I'm in a bit of a panic as I only work mornings, and was already stretching myself a bit with what I thought I could get done.
Does this sort of thing often happen? The answer of - you can do the job on the weekend - doesn't really work for me, I work around my children's school hours. If you always have to be this flexible then I might stick with just mystery shopping. Or am I just unlucky with this one?
    thanks x

Oh dear. Well thank you for the answer. Will try to fit these ones in somehow and avoid in future. Thought it was worth a try.
  • awaywiththefaeries - Just wanted to confirm that my experience is the same as that of Whitelabel. Probably not what you wanted to hear though. I find that nearly every single campaign gets delayed, things haven't been delivered to stores on time, there's usually stuff missing if it comes direct, questions to be asked, changes to the brief, and so on. Unfortunately, no matter how organised your diary looks, it never quite works out that way. Having said that, I complain about the constant changes, but I do actually like the work :)

What exactly is merchandising? Sorry to be a bit dim!

In this case, changing some posters for a product and making sure stuff is in stock.

Thanks for that. Helps once you know what may happen. Are they usually flexible about deadlines then if you don't have the materials delivered on time? Or is it just a matter of not taking a lot on in case?

Not to worry, the company in question are quite flexible with dates as long as the job is done to a good standard.
If in doubt, give them a ring and ask and I am sure they will be happy to extend.

P.S. I've got 600 to cover and only done 50 up to now.

How long are they taking? Is the estimate realistic?
