If they made it £ and not $ they might.
Note the slight scenario relaxations too.

That would help - problem is that there are too many Pizza jobs in general which pass through the boards, which are less slightly less 'faff' and more likely to get paid for. Thankfully none in my area to make it worth even thinking about.

I would love to know whose picking up the GFK phoneshops as they seem to be disappearing, despite the fact that you will get credit checked and need to return the phone and cancel the contract. Seems a right old 'faff' for the fee...

I did one just for the discount on a new contract, if you are upgrading or shopping anyway its a decent fee and discount.
  • I do market force jobs, but looking to branch out further. Wondered if someone could refer me a code for bare or recommend other reputable companies to work for. Parents had a meal out recently with very poor service, when they complained the manager didn't care and walked away. I'm passionate about improving standards.
    Many thanks

The companies listed on page 1 of this thread are reputable. Sign up with several and see which ones do the sort of assignments that appeal to you.

There is one that does visits to posh restaurants. Might get that eight o'clock res at Dorsia after all! ;)

Does anyone know when Retail Active usually releases the monthly railway station visits for outside of London? I have been checking every day for the past 2 weeks and nothing has came up. The visits for London were released last week.
  • Hi. Hoping some of the more experienced shoppers will be kind enough to help.

I'm thinking of getting into video shopping. Before I invest in a camera, can anyone advise me (by PM):

    - What sort of fees are paid for video work and how long they typically take for such fees
    - Are repeat visits to the same location allowed - or is there often a (say) 6 month wait?
    - What sort of jobs typically come up? I know this is somewhat location dependent, but are a decent number of visits a month every month possible? Do you have to put in a lot of miles to do this?

I've seen some DIY store type jobs on RA for video but the fee is lower than I thought might be paid for video work. Is this typical or a try-on?

    Many thanks for any help.

    - Video work is mostly dependant on how much time you're willing to give.
You can get jobs for Sales visits such as:
Tyre places (if you own a vehicle) about £20-30 a visit.
    Car dealerships £30-40 a visit.
Filler jobs they will allocate to you at the same time are again around the £15-30 mark.

When more experienced you can do Accompanied Servicing visits, where you accompany a real customer to their service, capture interaction and film report but this is about 30-60 mins in the morning then the same in the afternoon. These typically pay £70-100 but I know companies offering £200 dependent on your location.

You can also cover visits where the MS company supply you with a brand vehicle and you drop it off and collect from services, these pay a combined (agreed) overall price for a run of jobs.

Most companies have a strict 6 or 12 month repeat visit policy, and with car dealerships from the same company for Sales/Accompanied servicing this can be difficult to work around.

I find that PiP & DS are your best to speak to, however if you are willing to travel PiP is very good with sending you on a run of jobs and you still earn a nice amount after, not had as good with DS.
Obviously you have smaller companies like ABA which are also good, however not as much variety of work in the same areas.

You may also be interested to look into auditing as well, a lot of companies offer this now and the pay is reasonable.

Pay is usually dependent on the company, so best to ask whoever you speak to.

Happy to help out, if you need any further information or tips feel free to PM me.
  • Many thanks for the detailed reply.

It almost sounds like it will take a while to recover the cost of the camera. I'll have a chat with some companies to see how many visits they might have round here.

Don't mention audit/non-MS work today!! A round of visits were meant to start on Monday but the materials we need haven't been delivered yet. Then I got an email earlier saying some boxes have been packed with the wrong amounts of stuff.........Starting to look like more trouble than worth already! :(

    Thanks again - much appreciated

No problem, what area are you looking to cover just out of interest?

South West is a good place, as well as far East central and London/surrounding areas. Oh, and Scotland is also good as well. These areas pay higher for visual work.
