Will I do an hour round trip, read a brief, do a visit, pay for parking, buy a load of tripe, take a photo, download it, complete a report with long narrative all for £7.00?

The world may have gone mad, but I certainly haven't.

Sounds like a React job to me. I was slightly amazed when the ESA phone jobs got 'hoovered' up, really quickly as well. Particularly at this time of year when the phone shops start to heave with people looking for phones for xmas presents.

Just to open up the debate around tax and reimbursement-only jobs...

I just got of the telephone with HMRC after asking specifically about reimbursement-only restaurant jobs. I was told that I do not need to include them in my return, but that I do need to include anything that wasn't fully reimbursed or any fees received.
I also asked about mystery shopping for trains/travel where there is no fee, but you are given a free ticket. I was told that that also does not need to be included and it should be treated exactly as the restaurant scenario.

They fit in with places I was visiting for other jobs anyway for me, not sure I could do them on their own.

Hi, just wondering if someone could help me. I've recently signed up to GapBuster. I have completed their own orientation test and that of a few others, including the petrol one. In their emails, my local petrol jobs are available. Yet when I login, nothing shows up. I emailed them and got a reply which stated the petrol jobs were another project called audits and that I only completed the mystery shopping test. Could someone tell me how to take the audit test? Or how they got access to the petrol jobs? I thought doing the orientation test would have been it. Thanks.
  • If you look at the home page there are a group of icons for a burger company, a fuel brand, pizza co etc. Clicking on these icons takes you to the test page for each client. The one you have done is a general intro to MSing with GYP.

Thanks, but I think I've done them all- intro, petrol, pizza, burger, local shop etc. I'm confused by this. Any more suggestions welcome. Does anyone recall doing anything else to get petrol jobs? Thanks again.

To get petrol jobs I've had to do a damn sight more than complete the test. Eating 2 lots of fast food in one day comes to mind!

Okay, that makes sense. So hopefully once I've built up a good reputation with them I should gain access. Thanks.

I think so. I understand they are given as a 'treat'/incentive to do a job that won't shift. Maybe that's not the case in some areas. I don't know.

Enjoy the burgers and expect a call at month end if there are jobs in your area that need doing. That's been my (fairly short) experience anyway

The petrol jobs are classed as gold shopper visits, or that least they were. Some months I can see gold jobs and other months they are only available as bait direct from an allocator. I can't do burger jobs any more after being removed from the clients list for 'familiarity' so its impossible for me to reach gold shopper status.
Just keep doing the jobs you can see and you'll soon be getting calls for other jobs.
