  • I've recently joined up to a few MS companies, and have seen a few emails regarding assignments that are "Open to offers"
I was wondering what sort of offers are usually expected/accepted? So if the normal fee was advertised at say £25, what offers are usual?

I'd agree with the previous post. You need to approach it from the other way round "what do I need to make it worthwhile?" It helps if you know distances and likely transport costs.

I get contacted occasionally to do assignments which could be 50 miles away. Sometimes I take them, sometimes I turn them down, depending on my availability as well as the fee. I once in a moment of weakness said yes and regretted it but then found there was a train station very close to the shop and I got a day return for about £12 so it worked out ok.

As above and also depends on the MSC. You'll get emails imploring you to help with an urgent job and wont agree to pay an extra £1 to assist with travel.

Have MF canned their zero fees on jobs? Or is their disappearance from my page connected with my recent passing of a points milestone?

Mmm, I thought it was because jobs had been sticking around, mind I've noticed the verdant royal pubs have both a decent fee, you are allowed to solo visit and a decent reimbursement, maybe they pushed down too far, I know I've been selective and waited for a better fee.

Advisory: avoid Bare pizza client at all costs. There appears to be a policy in place to knock back pretty much all photos in the first instance - regardless of whether or not they comply with the brief.

I suspect, as with the period this client spent with Frontline Focus, that the company is trying to get something for nothing here. They won't get that from me - threats of legal action against Frontline Focus delivered full payment, and I'll happily do the same again if Bare get any ideas.

But they appear to be the client from hell and, I suspect, will be one to avoid whoever the reside with.

Agreed, seems Frontline were being messed around by the client the same way Bare shoppers are now being messed around. I've avoided them from the start, the paltry fee add on didn't tempt me either.

I pick up 3 or 4 Frontline pizzas a month in the Midlands on my travels, all with a bonus and have never been questioned on photos, it's easy money.
