Thanks headcrash27 and BigGraeme, I have a windows phone atm but I was thinking of changing it to an iPhone, but the app is not on windows that's why I mentioned iPhone, sorry tor any confusion

I assumed on the assignment you would just go round recording the prices of certain items. But if you have to scan everything, as you say this is far too much effort and suspicious. Also, any idea what the fees are like? They say they pay per line of data, but that's quite unhelpful...

ESA are not known for being high payers so reckon it will be around the same as their phone shop visits or travel agents on the board at the moment. Thankfully can't do them myself as can't commit to meet the 1pm deadline.

Has PIP lost its building society client? Haven't seen any jobs for them in a while.

PIP seem to have lost a lot recently, no DIY or cheap clothes shop anymore, all I can see is tedious poorly paid travel agents.

I did a travel agents job for them today - relatively straightforward and easy, I thought. I only did it because I was going to the same shopping centre for a much bigger fee from GFK in another shop though!

Please read the first few posts and do not mention fees

I have done, sorry for mentioning a fee to be fair it was only given as an example. Oh and as being new here your reply doesn't really help, sounds as if newbies aren't welcome here.

Anyway my original questions still stand as there isn't really much of a clear answer.

For one set of jobs I'm thinking of applying for requires me to get a photo of myself, newspaper and location sign now that is how it reads to me. How exactly can that be done if your on your own oh and I'm no handing my phone/tablet or camera to anyone I don't know plus you can't exactly ask staff.

The other one was a general moan that some companies are asking you to pay to do a job for them, that surely can't be allowed. Basically go out pay for a game, snack and a drink then write a report and you are only getting paid a fraction of the cost to you.

everyone is welcome but to be fair the fee and client things are the only 2 main rules of here, and they are written in the title of this thread, so newbie or not its pretty hard to miss....

I have an idea which MS company you are talking about. My advice if the MS is not going to reimburse you for everything is to only accept the assignment a) if you do that activity anyway or b) you fancy doing that activity and getting partial reimbursement.

Are you sure re the photo that the MS want a photograph of you, the newspaper and sign all in one shot? If yes, practice doing selfies lol :)

I have done the work with the selfie/newspaper/location requirement but submitted a selfie with newspaper (showing front page headline) and separate shot of location. They were accepted

Ah okay fair enough. Also, any idea how long you have to do it for? Like every Monday for a month or two, or what?

I imagine it will be ongoing until the client pulls the plug. So could be a few weeks, months or years.
