Give the project manager a call if you have any problems, I have found ESA are usually pretty helpful.

If anyone isn't already signed up with Optimum Contact, they are looking for new shoppers in most towns in England, particularly Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Here's a link for more details if anyone is interested:

Just to update, as other posters said had happened to them after being accepted, I have heard nothing from them since.

I'm sure the OP posted in good faith but I would suggest that any further appeals for shoppers by the MSC are taken with a pinch of salt.

I did one of those audits today, it was a double whammy one due to size. I quite liked doing it, as made a pleasant change from the 'norm'. The only negative is the amount of time it takes to upload the photos. There were a number of 'issues' at the site I audited so ending uploading around 30 snaps and with my BB connection that takes a while.

I had a feeling that the end client was with another MSC as have seen these jobs before, but they were not on 'self assign' as I recall...

No, it's a esa client. They have 'auditors' who get first refusal on all these types of job. I'm guessing their regular person is on holiday. I've managed to end up in their pool of folk who get offered these types of jobs. The pay isn't awe-inspiring but it's regular.

They sent a couple of emails out asking this week asking 'peeps' if they were interested in doing them on a regular basis. I responded back I was interested in doing a couple in my area. It seems these ones will be audited every 6-8 weeks.

Argh, I have made my first major mistake since starting Mystery Shopping. Simple audit, should take half an hour. The store had hardly anything in and what they did wasn't where it should be, so it took three times that long.

I realised when I returned that I did not take the correct photos. I assumed they wanted before and after photos of each product listed, but they did not. They wanted before and after photos of the entire shelf. I have apologised, and will be redoing the shop next week. Just hope I don't get fired.

Moral of the story: I'm an idiot.

Anyone else have similar stories? Or am I alone.

I once went to the total wrong betting shop. There was two on a road and ended up going to the wrong one and reporting for the wrong one :/ Had to go back and do the right shop later.

On the odd occasion I've made a mistake, I was convinced they'd sack me. I have found, so long as you are honest and admit your mistake promptly, rather than trying to cover it up- hey are usually very accommodating about you re-doing. Frankly, we are all human and all make mistakes, how else do you learn? :)

And those that are not accommodating are usually not worth worrying about anyway.
