Anyone else been offered an interview for the new RA auditing jobs? I thought I was just applying and would then get offered work. I do auditing for all the other companies, without needing to get checked out! The nearest interview to me is approx 2 hours away. They 'say' there will likely be work, but I'm looking at needing to take a whole day out just to go to this interview at my expense. Is it worth it?

thanks that will be me not applying then.. I had that email too, hesitated at the photo request bit.. I dont mind when applying for some jobs ive done with companies for security reasons in banks etc, but thought an odd reason why they said they wanted it now, when not asked before...

For the rates though thought probably not worth it, especially not now you say they want an "interview" for it. If paying me a day rate permanently for the role I can understand but not ad hoc fixed rate jobs...

Ive done 1000s of audit jobs in all sorts of places now and never needed an interview from an agency of this type, especially at my expense.

I've emailed them to ask why this is necessary and whether they'll be contributing to my £55 fuel costs and 3 hrs+ travel time. LOL

There is none any where near me so I doubt that I will be undertaking it as it would be two jobs worth before I recoup my expenses!

    You're all wrong, it's a £10 alternator belt.

That you take back for a refund because "it's the wrong one".

In other news, today consisted of walking to the GRG pharmacy at the end of the road, then the MF beer job at the end of that road, and home. It's a hard life!

I must remember that one for next time! All the beer jobs are out in the wilds round here. No chance of a pub crawl courtesy of MF :(

I had 2 shops next door to each other on Monday.
And a butty round the corner at lunchtime and a beer this evening round the other corner.

I've had to turn mine down. Interview was so far away that I had to try and clear a whole day, as well as organise help for outside school hours (clubs, dinner for kids, etc). A whole lot of hassle to be told there may or may not be work for me. Bit disappointed really.

@skintsocks- EXACTLY! I asked if they'd consider a Skype or telephone interview as an alternative. I've asked why it's necessary as we're all technically self-employed...

I may, on occasion, have been known to do two visits in the same place at the same time, for two different agencies. :D
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
