Anyone received a bank payment from Bare yet?0

I can see both sides of the great 'Is my dinner taxable?' debate.
On the one hand, if you do a lot of fee paying MSing (as most folks here do, me included), the odd no-fee meal is just another job you do as part of your self employed MSing business. It's payment in kind and taxable at 20%. I view it as an 80% off treat for me and the Mr.
On the other hand, if, as was asked about, you never do fee paying work and only do the odd meal, then I think you can absolutely skate under the radar. Different people have heard different opinions from HMRC staff and from accountants and I don't see you getting hammered for this.
It's very much your call if you think the hassle of registering and paying tax is more than the hassle of worrying about it.0 -

A question for those who get paid by Bare into the bank, what does it cost you to get paid in Euros and convert to GBP?0
-
Nothing and the exchange rate is a bit better too. The conversion is automatic for Euros and Dollars, which does mean that there is no choice when the conversion is done or chance to wait for Sterling to decline like there can be with PP.
Though I'm with HSBC/First Direct so it might be different for other banks.0 -
Paid - 30 Euros
Received £24.18
Equates to 1.2407 Euros to the £ - not to bad?0
