I have picked up some of the many phone shops on offer. These will be my first such visits and wonder if anyone who has done them in the past can offer any advice. From previous postings it sounds as though the reports are quite challenging. Also did you give your details or refuse. I dont have a problem with giving details but suspect that once on the system they will show up in subsequent visits.
They ask for your post code to check coverage in the area where you live/work (that's normal, there is actually the question in the report whether they did or not) and you can give them any post code from the area (just check the yellow pages first). As for the name & surname, I never give my real name. Same with you phone number - just say that you are not comfortable giving your phone number yet but would do if you decide to go ahead later (that's what briefing notes recommend). They ask for your number to check if you can upgrade your current contract. Good luck!0 -
Is anyone else find it a bit quiet on the MS front as we are in week 4 of 5 week month?
Did a lot first 3 weeks (so met my monthly target) but now all quiet on the western front....
It has been very quiet for me so far. I have been checking regularly all the job boards everywhere I signed up but there are not many visits which are worth doing really. The double visits with a phone call on GFK are still hanging in my area (no one seems to be picking them & the fees are still the same), there are few financial visits on TNS and Tern but I would not do them now, the rest of the jobs are just small ones, there are car visits, of course, but again, it's not everyone's cup of tea, and even AA, Bare & ESA are hibernating at the moment. I have got so much free time, I might do one of those cinema audits this weekend!0 -

I use an old Nokia mobile phone, that has a really big start stop button, so I can't go wrong. Very easy to use covertly from my pocket.
However, as a back, I've also started recording everything on my smartphone. Has just come in really handy after a restaurant disagreed with what the MOS said to me. My recording allowed me to quote verbatim what was said. Didn't hear anything back from the restaurant0 -
Have'nt done anything with RM since November - I only recently joined so will be at the end of end queue as they work on phone allocations. Picked up some TNS phones slightly out my normal patch for next month, but they have put in a couple of competitors, so useful loop has emerged. MF keep emailing me a Travel agent with offer of petrol - no chance there - fee needs to be at least 3 times what they are offering....
RA keep calling me, with an offer of petrol, but it worked out at 8p per mile :eek:0 -

I think that's REACT you're thinking of, who are very good, unlike RA.0 -

Yep, I meant React. Talking about RA, they have never offered mileage to me, not even 8 p per mile!

I've done half a dozen now, and none of them went to script. Only one really tried but even they gave up very quickly. Initially I was convinced I wouldn't be paid and was very tempted to prompt the staff member, but then realised that was probably the norm.0
