I tried to do a new current account enquiry with this bank for another MS company recently and they would not even speak to me without copies of my last 3 bank statements from my existing bank. I reported back, got paid for the visit but won't be picking up any more with this particular bank.0

Not good - I think they will soon find people won't want to take those MSs0 -
Hi Folks,
Sorry to neb in but I am wondering if anyone can help... I have done a few jobs for various companies and have recently registered with the one with the burgers and chicken. I am fairly confident with the drive thru ones but can I ask how you manage the timings in a sit in? Surely you can't have your phone out all the time - are there any good pocket timers etc to get as I have a smart phone so in pocket prob won't work.

I voice record the shop on a digital device and take the timings from that using a smart phone. I cough or some over trigger for first timing point and the other timing points should be obvious listening to the recording.0

I do. But try a few times first, for instance while shopping for groceries or some other everyday shop visit you do anyway.0 -

I have an old Nokia phone that I stick in my pocket. The stop start button is huge, so very easy to use.0 -
I am a bit wary as the bank job I did in the summer the bank did a credit search on my file and this was despite the notes saying no credit search would take place and that was a savings enquiry.
How did you see this search?
For example if you have Equifax alerts (were provided free through Capital One) it doesn't differentiate between ID/Quotation and Credit searches on the alert. On your actual report it does, but the alert just tells you you've been searched (I got about 40 in a week looking for car & home insurance!!!)
If you use https://www.noddle.co.uk (part of Call Credit) you can pull up your full report and see what's gone through call credit (which may/may not include the search).
You may already know, there are 2 types of searches - 1: credit application and 2: Enquiry.
I worked in a bank until recently, to my knowledge all savings apps were searches on a enquiry basis - so you could see they'd got at your file, but other lenders could not (so no negative impact).
Basically they have to look for you under Money Laundering rules, and also want to check you haven't got any fraud markers (CIFAS etc). Although you aren't taking credit, savings accounts can be used fraudulently (paying in dodgy cheques and withdrawing funds before it bounces then clearling off etc), so if you've had a misuse of facility or other CIFAS marker then they'll need to be careful (/decline)0 -
How did you see this search?
The search came up when I checked Noddle and when I got my statutory report from Equifax. Agree that it's not clear who can actually see what searches of your credit file and understand the precautions that banks take. This was only an enquiry and was a bit surprised that a credit search took place as I had not made any form of commitment to proceed and brief said no search would take place. Next time need to use false data methinks ...0 -

I use an app called Rehearsal Assistant on my Android phone to voice record the visit, it has the added benefit of timestamping the start of the recording so easy to work out the timings from there along with your exact entry and exit times.0
