  • IMS & Daily mail in google will find you the story. It seemed like a daft idea in the first place.. but hindsight is a wonderful thing ;)

The story is now in the national press, so I would say they are off.

Oh dear, it looks like someone sold their email to the daily fail. I'd write off the rest of the jobs if I were you.
    It wasn't me!
I had a look at the article - and was surprised at the quotes. Did the email actually say what the daily mail said - or did the journo make it up?
    arghhh!!!

people dont seem to understand confidential information however much they agree or disagree with it.
Unless its illegal, to go to a newspaper is terrible.

So many companies carry out competitor analysis and various other things that may be grey areas but are not illegal and certainly dont need handling by people the way this has been dealt, it just jeopardizes future work for the rest of us as companies may think twice about doing ANthing

Many of us doing this sort of work do loads of other jobs. I assumed the article had come from a moonlighting young journo, desperate for column inches. That's one of the reasons why I didn't believe the text of the email quoted. It was a covert campaign - so why (apart from incompetence) would a company risk exposure etc by being so explicit.

because they assumed their confidentiality agreements that they have everyone sign and include on emails, would ensure no one passed the info on.

From the wording of the text, it has been passed to them rather than written by someone who received it directly from ims.

I actually didnt see that email text though as I was only offered store visits not online etc as detailed in there so cant comment on its accuracy.

Why do companies expect you to work for peanuts or no pay if you calculated your expenses correctly!!! If you paid a decent fee the jobs wouldn't hang around. And if you phone and as for a job to be done and then don't want to pay a premium don't expect to get it done!!!
