I've stopped doing the car visits for reasons similar to the scenarios you found yourselves in. One had the wrong list price in the briefing (two digits were the wrong way round, clearly a typo on their part) but I couldn't get the report to end so I emailed, heard nothing, got de-allocated. Another time there was a car in stock that was the exact spec I was enquiring about and my quote had the vehicle details on so TNS wouldn't pay as the quote wasn't for a factory order (no reply to the email asking how I should have told the salesperson I wanted a factory order rather than the nice new one they already had!). Generally I like TNS, but they're impossible to get hold of when you need them!

Good luck, I hope you both get paid!

I've done quite a bit of work with TNS and on the whole I've been very happy with them but I've stopped doing their car visits as the scenarios are, at times, quite ridiculous.

I did one car job. The fee sounded good but it took far longer than I felt was reasonable for the work involved. Then they came back and told me the quote was not for exactly the right model - it was the only one the dealer would quote for as it was the one in stock - and I never got paid. I have never taken any car jobs since. Someone presumably does and I think they are very brave! The input system was a disaster as well.

I've got 4 companies emailing begging me to take car visits at the moment. I feel quite relieved Not to have taken a single on having read the above.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just wondering what the biggest extra fee is you've negotiated to complete a job for a company?

Mine was £18 for an airport job...probably small fry compared to some of you guys!
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I said in an earlier post that the car assignment market is totally saturated. With this latest e-mail, there are at least 4 MSCs carrying out car visits. I've had requests to do the same car showroom by 3 different firms

Never done a car pricing visit and have no intention either. I'd rather do a couple of lower fee simpler jobs and not have all the aggro.

Totally agree - I have zero interest in cars and don't think I could blag my way through it. Ditto previous posts - can't believe the number of car audits in circulation. Good luck to those that do them as deserve the fee IMHO.
