Thanks, to be honest am thinking of stopping working for MF - every report I've sent back recently they've had proof reading queries on, even though the info they've queried is in the report.

I wonder if they are paid per item they challenge!

I remember long ago when I used to work in Fleet Street (Before Computerisation of the Press), The typesetters were paid per letter they set (Old Hot Metal Typesetting), and the Proof Readers were paid per error picked up.

So as you can imagine a very cosy situation came to play with the typesetters and proofreaders working together to introduce errors to increase the income of both parties (Typesetter got paid twice for resetting the faulty text and proofreader got bonus for stopping errors)

And all was paid in cash on a nightly basis with the self employed print workers just signing a mickey mouse name for the bonus

This was the Mid to late 80s by the way. Sounds almost pre war doesnt it!

I know what you mean. I did a furnishings store for then and forgot to say what I had drank in the coffee shop. It raised a query which asked what did you have to drink in the cafe. Why don't you just look at the receipt I uploaded which just says large tea instead of having to wait hours for me to answer which would mean the report could be coed faster. I know it was my fault but come on.

It depends on the jobs, but anything between 10 and 20 would be a good day. It also depends on where you live as to how many jobs you can add to a circuit. Remember it can get mind numingly boring doing 10 carpet jobs a day, let alone trying to make all reports sound different.

The trains ones are so boring to fill in when you are ping it over 3 companies. I just take on 3 for the same company now so most of the answers are the same as I copy and paste them across.

I have noticed this with certain types of jobs, once I've heard about one phone I feel like I've heard them all lol. I'm finding that if I start early in the morning I can get 10 done in a day but the timings of some of the jobs can throw me a little...I suppose it's like everything new though - trial and error. :o

Shame about the TNS client going. Not interested in cars so doubt I'll be doing much for them in future.
