New to Orange Contract

I've just signed up for my first ever mobile phone contract, the cheapest 30 day rolling contract with Orange to check on coverage in my area before committing to a longer contract.

With Orange contracts do you have to pay to retrieve voice mails or are they deducted from your free minutes? Also if you want to turn off the voice mail service can you dial a number or is it a contact customer services job?

Voicemail costs 35 pence per minute. See the SIM Only Megathread at the top of this forum. 150 is the number you need for CS to turn it off.

voice mail is deducted from your free minutes if you are on contract as far as i know

I didn't have to pay for them when i was on Orange and i have only just left with-in the last few weeks after 6yrs with them

You do have to ring to get them VM turned off.

Thank you gents. I phoned Orange customer services this afternoon and got them to turn off the voice mail. Coincidently during the morning before I had a chance to read the posts here, my wife left a voice mail but fortunately Orange CS deleted that for me as well.
