Compensation for early departure?

There's a lot of information about delayed departures, but has anyone tried claiming compensation for a departure that flew out early?
My daughter was bumped off both outbound and inbound flights; the new flights resulted in her arriving in resort 12 hours later than scheduled and leaving resort 12 hours early (which she didn't find out about until 21 hours before the revised pick-up time, meaning that they lost most of their last day in resort).
Cheers.....

The outward flight, assuming she had checked in on time appears to be a case of 'denied boarding' which can be claimed but I find it hard to believe that in advance of checking in for the return flight, they had chosen her to 'bump' and put her on a different flight. I have to say this looks as though there was a schedule change that she was not aware of but we need specific details, airline, date, destination before we can be certain
  • Thanks, Alan.
The girls checked in early, and when they checked in, they were obviously on a list of 34 people who were the last to book their holiday, and for whom there was no room on the flight. I will supply more details, and very much appreciate your help.

Ah, the good old days of 'overbook and see who shows up first'. That is exactly what Reg 261/2004 was intended to make a thing of the past.

I hope you can make them pay. Treating your so called customers like that is shocking.
  • It had nothing to do with the time they showed up. They were amongst the first to check in, but found themselves on the 'black list' of people who booked only a few days prior to departure. They would have been fine if it had been a case of first come, first served.

Quite how you get given 21 hours notice that your holiday has been curtailed by 12 hours has left me speechless!

If 34 people it looks like an aircraft change say from an A321 to a A319.
