Are all cheap washing machines cold fill only?

As the title, the trusty Hoover has exploded (literally, sparks out of the programmer) so it is time for a new one, such poor quality, can't be a day over 15 that machine.
Trawling Argos,Currys Apollo2000 Looking for about £200-£250 with a name I've heard of like Indesit and they all feature cold fill. (does that mean cold fill only? I suspect it does)
Now my Hoover was hot fill, so saved a bit of money as the hot water is heated by gas rather than expensive electricity.
Before actually going round lifting machines out to count the pipes am I looking in vain?
How can they be more efficient if they are heating up cold water?

as far as I am aware, all washing machines now are cold fill.
Not 10% sure but Im happy to be corrected.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I think hot fill is only used for the hottest washes only, on my machine it's only used on the highest temp so I don't even have it connected to hot water.0

Washing machines now are cold fill only to achieve a higher energy efficiency rating.
The washing machine heats the water to the required temperature rather than taking hot water and mixing with cold to cool it down.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Cold water fill only I'm afraid to tell you0

Thanks all.
Saves me looking then.
Now the problem of buying one, I can just shove it in the back of the car on its side with the transit bolts still in?
If I've gone all the way to a big store, I might as well just bring it home with me.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

If it's a hatchback, you may need to have the back (hatch) door open slightly with the seats down. Ensure your tyres are fully inflated for maximum load.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0

Thanks for the heads up
Best get the tape measure out then, be rather silly to break the back window or something just to save £10 and waiting in all day.
a washing machine only weighs about 70kg, I probably weigh that!I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

To be honest, I would get the model number of what you want, go home and compare prices, google for free delivery and bobs your uncle.
We did this with a big telly at Tesco, did the above and found it £70 cheaper at Richer Sounds and they gave me free delivery.
If you have already got home with the machine, do not do the above. LOLmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I started doing that, but invariably the best deals are "out of stock"
So the plan now is buy something that is physically there, in Currys or Apollo2000 and stick it in the back of the car. At the price I'm willing to pay, there isn't much chance of saving £100.
Also I only have a few seconds each day when I am not toiling incessantly to earn enough money to stay alive long enough to do it again tomorrow, so the time saved is worth more to me than £20 saved.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
