Flight Delay

Hi

I have sent a letter to the airline about getting compensation for a flight that was delayed 13 hours. They have e-mailed back to say that no compensation is due becuase the delay was due to a "Technical Nature, and there were extraordinary circumstances".

Is this normal, and is there any other way to get any compensation?
