hurray its the school holidays - no getting up rushing around for the school run.
my kids stay up a bit later and we all have a bit of a lie-in :j
except someone in the street sends their children out to play at 8am and these kids scream, cry, shout etc.
personally I think this is too early and wouldn't allow my children out to cause a nuisance at this time?
am i expecting too much?

My three year old is jumping on me every morning at 7am, as soon as she is old enough she can get out and play!0

I fear you are expecting too much.
However if they are causing a nuisance then a word with the parents would not go amiss. If they are are only out in the street playing then good for them.0 -
at 7am?
maybe i should count myself lucky
i love the sound of kids playing - but not screeching :A0 -
I personally would do 9am as an earliest limit, but I think I'd be in the minority even around here where people are pretty considerate.
Most people are up and about going to work at 7am here, so the noise begins early. In that situation, why keep the kids in for two hours when the adults have already been out and about?
No kids here yet, but we wait to do any work outside/recycling/lawn mowing until 9am.0 -
I think 8am is okay - its been daylight for hours by then, folk have been getting up and out for work etc for a good hour or more by then, and if I'm having a lie-in I'm usually coming to at about that time in the morning. The sound of kids playing (and squealing at each other) in the street doesn't really bother me, to be honest.0

8am is a reasonable time, imo, to let children out to play IN THEIR OWN GARDENS, but my rule was - no calling for friends until 9am!0

thanks everyone. i feel a bit less angry after seeing the replies.
i think the reason i was so annoyed is that the mother just wants the kids out of the way.
last week she sent them out in the rain to call for friends - knowing they would be invited into the homes of others.0 -
My children don't go out to play till around 9am, though they are up around 8am. They are happy to get up, washed, have breakfast and watch some cartoons. We have a lot of neighbours who are retired, so I don't like to send them out too early in case they disturb them. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. I think 8am is fine.
OP, you say that your kids stay up later in the holidays - what time would you consider bringing your kids back in from screeching playing outdoors?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Oh, the joys of being woken up at 7am by next door's grandson happily playing in the garden singing his Grandad's favourite country songs at the top of his voice!
I used to aim for around 9am with ours and not too late in the evening, either.0
