Apple or Android?

Hi,

I've had the Samsung Galaxy S2 for a couple of years now and it's coming up to upgrade time soon.

I've been comparing different phones - I've liked my S2 but just want something better now.

So, should I stick with Android and get the new S4, or maybe an HTC?

Or should I switch to Apple and go for the Iphone 5?

Your choice neither OS is better or worse .A lot depends upon what you may already be tied into or paid out for as bought Android apps wont transfer to Apple .
Better would have to be as in what better ??
Impossible to make your mind up without looking at the actual models in CPW or similar .

IP5 is now out of date but as S3 still a useful tool as many older smartphones are .

iOS is a very decent operating system but right now the iPhone 5 doesn't come close to either the HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4.

Both phones have their own advantages and disadvantages but the HTC One is a beautiful device and the speakers are massively better than those on the Galaxy S4 which is why I went with HTC this time around. It also has some interesting things such as an IR blaster which you can use to control your television but other than testing it I've never really used it.

Definitely recommend going to a shop and having a look at them though. The only real advantage I would point out with the iPhone 5 is that it's smaller (as it has a much smaller screen) which to some is preferable.

If you are interested in seeing the new OS of iPhone, you catch it in Apple's website. Then you can make a decision whether it's worth buying iPhone 5 as it will support most if not all the features of the new OS.

What level of Android is on your S2? Android has made some big steps forward with ICS and then JB.

You should of course check out Apple's OS before making your decision, but if your not at least running 4.1.2 Android (or later) then you should check this out too rather than rely in you current experience.

Thanks everyone for your replies, there are definitely some things to consider here.

After a bit of looking around it looks like the HTC phones like the One and ONE-X are quite under rated, they really do look like good phones.

I'm swaying towards the S4 at the moment, staying with Samsung and android rather than jumping ship to Apple. But I'll get down to Carphone Warehouse in the week and have a look at the phones and ask a few questions.
