Please be a part of the solution and not the problem people; don't use your animals as cash cows - it's blood money. Remember, Don't breed or buy whilst homeless pets die!!!!

While I fully appreciate the sentiment of animal welfare and the overabundance of unwanted animals, I think that this statement is a bit much. I know you meant well and gave good advice to the OP but it is not as simple as don't breed or buy.

When I first got cats as an adult, I contacted my local cats protection to adopt unwanted cats and was turned down due to working during the day. This seemed unreasonable in my mind when we were looking for 2 kittens fully aware they could have kept each other company during the day and we would provide plenty of stimulation for them.

I ended up getting cats privately through advertisement and refuse to feel guilty because I 'bought' my moggies for £25!!

Last week I adopted an unwanted 7 month old cat, who got spayed yesterday. I also have 3 boys who were neutered as soon as they were old enough.

    (Sorry to hijack OP)

I too wanted to adopt from the Cats Protection League and could not due to living near a main road, so I went and bought my two girls.

If these homeless/rescue centres would relax the rules a little, many more animals would be rehomed.

A photo of the kitties would be appreciated.

I got mine through a cats protection foster friend. I work full time and lived near a main road and had no problem. It must depend on the boss of that area. Although maybe I had slightly different circumstances as they thought the mum was dying and needed kittens off her Asap, I ended up with her at around 4wks old due to mum.

Photos of all kittens definately needed.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Though saying that we will def not be having any more!
I got a voucher from the RSPCA towards the cost of spaying.

Our local cats protection wouldn't let us adopt as our house had stairs! I always find it odd when people are against cats breeding, they must really hate them as they want domestic cats in the UK to become a thing of the past.
