Faulty Vodafone mobile - help please?

We bought a Vodafone (own make) mobile at the end of June and have made several trips back to the shop as it didn't work as it should. The staff there 'tweaked' the settings and it worked OK for a week then stopped working completely!

We took it back to the shop again!! and they have sent it off for repair which they told us would take 7 days and they would text us 3 times to let us know progress. This was 10 days ago. Only had one text so far to say it's gone to the repairers.

The receipt they gave us has no contact number for them and we can't easily get to the shop, so don't want to make the journey unless the matter can be fully resolved.

So.....

1) Does anyone have a contact number for the repair department or advice how to contact a particular Vodafone shop? (I've tried the online chat but because of our contract they do not recognise our number so wont help us)

2) Is the Vodafone representative available to help track down our phone?

3) And finally - should we have insisted on a replacement phone there & then as it had stopped working after such a short time?

You've tried the online chat, have you tried the generic number?

Yes you should have taken all details at the time whilst you were in the shop so you're not posting late at night asking how to get in touch with them.

If you're on contract why don't you ring the CS department?

Anyone in Vodafone should be able to track the whereabouts of your phone. What is this they told you about not recognizing your number?!!

Thank you for your reply wapow

I'll try the number you gave me - to be honest the service we received from the person we saw that day was abrupt almost to the point of rudeness and we were quite glad to get out of the store. I thought the contact number/information would be on the receipt she gave us. As a communications company it now seems obvious to me they don't actually want communications!

Apparently, they don't recognise our number because it "runs on a separate platform" as it's a business contract.

Try the store finder on the Vodafone website, it should tell you the number for your local store.

    Hi Marg,

You can track repairs online. However, due to the posting guidelines which company representatives are required to follow, I'm afraid I'm unable to link to the relevant page.

As such, to enable me to help you further could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Hi Xplozion,

I'm afraid the store finder only provides addresses for our stores together with directions.

    Kind regards,
