Should I report this estate agent?

A tad unfair. They are valid questions and maybe 'to see justice' is reason enough - that could be just what _Andy_ is clarifying

.... and clarification of that point affects the best route to complain...

eg Small Claims court for material losses (but no chance of success unless you can prove how much you have lost in financial terms).

Other dodgy behaviour which does not result in loss report to NAEA or whatever trade body they are member of (if any) or a senior partner in the firm but again it helps to know what redress you want.

1) Why on earth are you being so rude and insulting?
2) With any complaint, key is to be specific about what outcome you want. Without that, how can the company rectify things? I.e. is the OP looking for (for example) an apology, compensation (if so, how much), etc.

I've absolutely no idea why you've been so rude. There's no need for it.
I've made plenty of complaints in the past and one of the keys to me having had them resolved promptly is that I'm very clear from the start what I want from them (and no, before you start attacking me again, not always compensation). Failure to be specific about the outcome often means the person making the complaint ends up unhappy and things drag on.

Anyway, I won't be responding to you again as you've been extremely rude for no reason at all. I've no idea why you've reacted with such a bad attitude.

But obviously you knew about the problems with the loft conversion when you purchased the house (not when you viewed it maybe, but certainly when your solicitor went through the process)?

And if you weren't aware of it until you had completed the purchase then your complaint should be with the solicitor not the agent.

And as the loft now has passed Building Regulations, I assume, then I can't see what the problem is?

If the estate agent knew and was honest then it may have resulted in a different outcome. Would they still have purchased the property knowing this or did they only purchase it because they were that far down the line in a stressful situation?

Reporting it to the OFT probably wont result in anything but if they had similar tricks reported previously or in the future it may result in an investigation - unlikely that anything will ever get reported based on the posts in this thread but you never know.

Do you have PROOF of this, rather than it just being a 'fair chance'?

Again, if your complaint, whomever you make it to, succeeds, what result do you want from it? Compensation for you? A fine for the agent or seller? Prison sentence? Flogging? C'mon, work with us here ....
