Electric shower choices

Has anyone got any recommendations for an electric shower, it can be 10.8kw as it will be rewired.

It would be good if it can also be controlled remotely.

Sorry, that just made me laugh! :rotfl:

While sitting on the toilet seat or driving home from work!?

I think I understand what you mean - most of the electronics concealed but just the controls visible?

Be careful if you have 'silver backed' platerboard ceilings - they play havoc with the wireless signal - assuming this is all hidden in the loft that is!

OH's idea - its a walk in shower and OH doesn't want to get sprayed with cold water.

We were thinking of having a Hans Grohe rainfall shower but will need to alter a lot of plumbing to give a suitable water supply.

Also as we have quite a few people to stay, we are concerned that the immersion cyclinder will not be big enough, yet more plumbing changes.

The house is all electric so not many options really.

Then we thought about electric showers, we have a Mira Sport at present which is OK but not sure about other makes. Hence the question

Tell OH not to be such a wuss or reach in, turn it on, then get in once its warmed up a bit.

Hmmm. more than you think. They use a prodigious amount of water.

Its the cold that matters too!! Minimum 50 gal for an ordinare shower.

Stick with what you have or check out the Redring. I'm not a fan of Triton.

In our last house we had a Mira, I don't think it was a sport, I can't remember the name but the front of it was a slate tile so it looked nicer than a lot of electric showers. It was very powerful and felt more like a normal shower, as I find electric showers can be sightly lacking in the amount of water they actually give.

Just had a look and it was the Mira Galena.

Should have made it clear, this is for the new house, we've got to gut the place as its a dump at present (hence other post on cookers etc for the kitchen), the plan is to have change the bathroom to a shower room. The room size make the layout very difficult.

OH is a wuss but she'll have to walk into the shower area so won't be able to avoid a blast of cold water.

We had a rainfall before and it was great, but yes water use is high. Hence we knew the current supply would be too small, the option was a larger economy 7 immersion tank but this would possibly only give 3-4 showers, so not much use.

We then started to think about an electric shower but they can be carp. Our current house has a Mira sport which is OK. This type of shower wouldn't be my first choice but it may be a more sensible option. Just need to avoid the less able makes.

Why doesn't she just turn it on, shut the shower door and then walk in when its warm?

She'll have to if we cant find a solution, but as we are refitting the property we are trying to install exactly what we want / works in the way that we want - I'm sure we'll end up making compromises but its not easy negotiating with my wife - especially when she knows the technology exists.
