Without any proper contact details, and an unfinished site... I'd say it looks extremely dodgy. The company name is not listed at Companies House:

    https://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//companysearch?disp=1&frfsh=1375731057&#result

The registered address in Canary Wharf appears to be a in a block of mostly residential flats, although there is the marketing company "5D", which is mentioned on the shop's website:

    http://www.ratemyarea.com/places/canary-wharf-marketin-135149
    https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=18+Hertsmere+Road,+Canary+Wharf,+London,+E14+4AY#bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&ei=a_7_UbWDJOq40QWSwYC4Dg&fp=90fab82dcf71750f&q=18+Hertsmere+Road,+Canary+Wharf,+London,+E14+4AY&sa=N&start=10

The domain is registered to the marketing company, but the address there is a residential house in Leicestershire.

It doesn't add up. And, if the only contact information is a marketing company, who is actually running the site?!

Sole trader running a website using drop shipping, again nothing wrong with that.

the only thing wrong is not having clear contact details on his website

Quite right and they are clearly using an Off The Shelf US marketed/produced website package from Magento - the About Us Page gives that away.

so why say hes a site designer when his portfolio is full of cheap site templates that are not his

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to have a look at this. I suppose I just need to wait and see then! I'll let you know if anything happens!

I am the same and have done exactly the same as you. I ordered on Sunday, voicemail is full. That area code isn't even consistent with canary wharf!! Just rang my credit card company and they haven't taken the transaction out so have cancelled the card and will order from elsewhere!!!

These days that means nothing. you could go to somewhere like flextel and get a free number that you can have directed to any number in the world and even mobile phone.

I nearly placed an order but then noticed some suspicious detail.
I work in Cnary Wharf number range is valid (0203 is London) and yes there is an number 18 at the street listed albeit a residential flat next to a resturant next to Canary Whaf. I did however call the admin guy listed for the website and he was helpful , hestated it was a venture that never got off the ground as such the site is visible but not active, the credit card function is not linked to anywhere and was going to be worldpay. he advised he has not had time to take down the images yet, but did advise that if myself or anyone else have any issue or monnies debited to call him ..

They do have enough info shown to comply with their legal obligations (name, address and contact e-mail).

It's nice for customers to be given a phone number but this isn't officially needed.
