You have said the landlord "wants to sell".

To me, there is no immediate hurry.
If the landlord wants you to leave, he needs to get a court order, and then bailiffs. This will take weeks.

At what stage is the possession proceedings at the new property? Ask the landlord to see the posssession order. Note the date on it.

Have the tenants in the new property given a valid notice to quit, or are they leaving at the end of a fixed term?
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

ISTM that Plane B was always going to be storage and hotel

whilst organising it in one week instead of two might be a rush I can't see how it is impossible

We have no way of affording either, all our extra money has gone towards the new deposit and moving costs and storage and hotel would potentially run into thousands for 4 people, 2 dogs and a 4 bed house worth of stuff. Plus I work from home mostly so would have to give up my job, hubby works for me in our shop so would have to give up his (as nothing to sell) but we would still have outgoings on shop etc. Plan B can't exist in that way, we would be bankrupt very quickly :(
There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.

I believe they have buyers, and so we need to be out so they can move in. If we stay we are just as bad as the people causing our problems and being forced into a situation of having an eviction seems pretty harsh, we are good tenants and if we have a prior eviction against us we will struggle to rent in the future (why would any sane LL want to rent to people who had to be forcefully evicted from a previous property?)

The tenants in the new property have been served eviction papers, they legally have until the 14th as far as I know before the bailiffs drag them out but we are waiting for the LA to get back to us. They seem to think it's no big deal but after seeing the general consensus on here about staying as long as possible, and how people can just sit tight and wait weeks for court proceedings (again, why do that? Why be the bad guy who screws things up for the LL and future occupiers?) well I just don't know if they will have barricaded themselves in as that's what they have been advised to do!

You believe they have buyers that need to move in, or they have buyers that need to move in?

There is no record kept of tenants that are evicted as far as I am aware.

There are no such thing as eviction papers.
    I suggest that you:

Our LL's are not a nice person, they have said they will be here on the 15th to get the keys, believe me I don't want to be in a situation where we can't just hand the keys over and be gone, they scare me and it's making me ill (I have bi-polar and it has made me less mentally stable than is good for me) They say they have buyers, I don't know if they have or not.

We've tried getting an answer from new LA and LL but it's trying to get hold of LA (usually out of office) who then tries to get hold of LL (stressed with dealing with existing tenants so not thrilled with answering questions) then waiting and waiting to hear back. I've been glued to the damn phone for days, but they won't give us a straight answer. LA says as they are not managing property and just advertising it they don't know :/
