Mobile phone contract

My head is blagged! How do I pick the right Pay Monthly contract for me I can afford and the right phone at the same time!
I don't need a lot of minutes or texts but I need a good amount of data as my job entails it and that is mind boggling because I keep reading everything I can about how much data is what but it still makes no sense.

Can anybody help me!

If you can't afford it don't by it.
It sounds like your job needs to pay for the phone and data as shouldn't be reducing your wages like you suggest
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Virgin Media are offering me one at £26 month with being a customer but on the bottom of the letter it states that if I quote the code given to me they would knock £5 off my bill a month over 2 years saving £120 but what I can't get to terms with is have they already knocked it off to make £26 or would it decrease to £21 a month instead which I could easily afford it I make a few changes to my lifestyle .. lol

  • Firstly if your job requires you to have a phone, get the job to provide it.:money:

Anyway, I would always recommend going down the SIM only route and either buy a phone outright or stick with the one you already have. If you look at the 30 day SIM only packages there are at least two with unlimited data -see the thread on here called "Best SIM Only Deals (MEGATHREAD)". You will see some allow tethering (connecting your laptop/Kindle/iPad, etc. to the internet via your phone using the phone as a local WiFi "hot spot"), some allow voice over IP (Voip) for applications such as Skype and others appear to block it.

Currently the market is changing due to the roll out of 4G and is quite volatile, T-Mobile appear to have increased their prices (according to a thread on here), Sainsbury's have launched a PAYG SIM at a much higher price than Three recently announced and again Three have dropped by quite a margin their "One Plan" SIM only deals... Many of the current high specification phones do not have 4G and some that do are missing the bands rolling out 4G with O2 and Vodafone...

Beware of SIM contracts of 12 months or more, unless you are really sure of the deal. It is fairly easy to change networks on the 30 day SIM only deals and you can transfer your number to new network if a better deal appears.

All a bit of a mess!

Why not post a few phones you like the look of and what kind of allowance you need and see if people can suggest some good deals?

If you're not sure on the specific phone, do you have a preference for android, iphone or windows phone or blackberry?

What kind of deal are you on now?

At the moment I am currently on a giffgaff goodybag which is quite good from what I want out of my package the only problem I am having is if .. (my phone had not gone 2 rounds in the washing machine) I would not be in this mess.
I usually stick with Samsung as it has not failed me yet but Sony are attracting my eye the only problem with the phones is PRICE!
