Where is the best place to install a two way outdoor TV aerial splitter ? is it best to have it as near to the aerial as possible or does it make no difference where it is fitted
How will it affect the picture on my TV when my aerial is split and what aerial splitter would you recommend
Thank You

Won't make any difference to signal quality where you split, but splitting it as close to the TVs as possible will require less wire, so that's a good idea.
Splitting the signal gives you 2, weaker signals though, so you would need to have a very strong signal to start with, or else you'll have problems and may need a (powered, indoor) booster instead.0

A mast head amplifier is the ideal approach. You will be boosting the signal and not the noise that is picked up along long cable runs.
As long as the signal is adequate you'll not see any difference in picture quality, as it reduces the picture will go blocky (high error rate), and disappear, sometimes called the digital cliff.

On another note instead of getting a powered indoor booster or a aerial ampifier as suggested would it be a better option to fit a second outdoor aerial instead ?0

Another aerial would be the best solution.
I have 2 aerials, one on the roof for my main TV and another in the attic for my bedroom TV.
Never use them now because I have Sky and a 4 way LNB with 2 outputs to my lounge for Sky + and one connected to my freesat tuner in my computer in my "computer room."0

Sometimes you do.You don't need multiple aerials for a domestic dwelling
I got my second aerial for free, along with a length of coax, it was easier to get a cable from the attic to the upstairs bedroom rather than run a cable from the lounge to upstairs.0

Just try one of those three way splitters.
If you signal is weak you will have wasted a couple of. quid . Splitter works well for me but i have a strong signal .

Nor does it mean it is the best or a good solution.
It was the best for me.0
