Best place to advertise to sell a car?

I always use Autotrader because a) I've always had good success with it and b) when I'm looking to buy a car I find it is by far the best place to do so. eBay does my head in because the cars are all categorised incorrectly.
Put mine up on Friday, sold it yesterday. I reckon it does somewhat depend on the type of car and therefore the audience you're appealing to. Different people use Gumtree than Autotrader.0 -
If it's chavved up and high miles, put it on gumtree, and possibly ebay.
Autotrader makes it very easy to compare milage/spec, and no way would I be choosing a bodykitted high mile car against the opposition. Gumtree is more local and more small field, so your car won't stand out as much. The right buyer might just pop up.
Sorry but £1,495 for a modified (higher insurance) high milage slow golf seems like madness to me. Having no insurance is a stone cold killer too - I wouldn't even be coming to look at a car I can't test drive legally.
I'd say £999 and try your luck on gumtree or ebay auction, or else dress it up properly, invest (waste?) £200 on a years tax and MOT, and see if you can push for £1495.0
