    Morning all,
I've been pottering round looking at things in the house, waiting for inspiration to land. It didn't, so I sorted out some recycling. We should have been flying out to Luxor today, for three weeks but DH's heart trouble and then the unrest put paid to that. Last year's holiday was cancelled too, so I've really enjoyed the lovely sun we have had this last few weeks - it helps the RA so much. Now it's damp again and I've had to slow right down as I'm so stiff.

It's raining again, so I don't know if the builders will arrive until it stops and dries up a bit. Must say that what they've done so far in the back garden (well, yard really) is working well for me - no steps and the rain runs off quickly. I need to decide what I'm going to plant in the new raised beds. Not much room for anything much but lavender is on the list, as are lupins, and DH wants more honeysuckle - we enjoy next door's plant that wanders over the wall each summer.

Sending virtual hugs in all direction, x

Dinner tonight is chicken as it was taking up too much space in the carefully arranged freezer so I defrosted and cooked it yesterday.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Hello everyone, and best wishes to all who aren't feeling so good.

I was expecting rain today, so did all my washing yesterday. So far it's very nice, and the sun is out. Hope it stays that way.

I've been down the road to the post office doing the eBay run. It was very easy this week, only one thing to go over the counter, and everything else went into the post box.

I've been wanting to build the business side of eBay for a whole, and have experimented with various types of things to sell.

But I have now hit on the perfect thing for me to specialise in - postcards.

I've been selling my own postcard collection privately, and I've worked out what will sell well. Also, they don't take up much room to store, are easy to pack, and tie in with my interests of history and travel.

I think I'll be able to source the cards by buying larger lots at auction, and picking out the best ones for selling individually. I'll never make a fortune, but I think I could make a small profit.

I'm not going to do much about it now, but when I get back from my holiday I will be working on this.

Anyway, we've got salmon for dinner tonight, with my beans from the garden.

I'd better get on with the housework, haven't even started yet.

    Have a good day.

    Morning All,

Moorhen - looking at lycra can make you go blind! :D I watched some of it on TV, it looked a fine spectacle.

Another fine, sunny day here. DD, partner and friends return from Dublin today. They all seemed to have had a marvellous time. GS was really missing them yesterday, think mummy will get a lot of attention this evening.

Had Irish stew and wheaten bread last night, first for a long time.

Have a good day everyone
  • Hi all
BB no never heard of them, are they any good? Nice to see you back by the way.
Hubby's gone to town to pay in a cheque, a tax rebate, £22, we applied for Martins 'washing your own uniform' and got it, plus £60 a year tax allowance.
I have now mastered the art of walking upstairs rather than crawling which is an improvement.
I'm doing leeks wrapped in ham and covered in cheese sauce with new pots later, well I'll sit at the table giving instructions and hubby will cook. The leeks and new pots are from the garden.
    Hugs Hester

Well I had an awful nights sleep, dreaming about my hubby. And his ex, they have been divorced almost 30 yrs:eek: no idea why so I was cross when I woke up:rotfl: anyway thought I would have a lie in but the doctors receptionist rang at 8 to say could I come in, I only had my blood test on Friday. So she scared me.
Anyway nothing too bad I'm anaemic so need iron and my thyroid is borderline over active, also have some inflammation in my blood but could well be due to my knee. He also wants me to have an internal just to top everything off:eek: just want to feel better.
hubby was late for work thanks to me so we are rushing round now trying to catch up appointment times.
Really wish I was well enough to go out to work and share some of the burden. I do my best at home so he doesn't have to worry about cooking and cleaning where I can. He is very good doesn't complain.
Tea tonight is curry and rice, youngest DS has invited his new gf but all very relaxed.
Best get on hope everyone has a good day x

And whats a coconut bubble ?????

Bubble tea is a Taiwanese drink. Its basically tea, with tapioca balls in it, which you suck up through a straw and eat. I dont like the green tea versions, but i love the milk tea ones, especially coconut flavour! Its definitely an acquired taste, and can be a bit strange if you havent had it before, but its really nice :-) its perfect when its warm weather, because you can have them cold with ice in

It is very different - the place I go to is called Bubble Cha, and they have a big selection of flavours, and 'toppings' I dont usually get the tapioca, I get strawberry juice pobble, which are little pink 'jelly' balls, and when you bite them they are full of strawberry juice. Very tasty!
