I am doing some leaflets for my sisters mobile hairdressing bussiness and I really could do with a logo. She is called Liz, maybe her name could be incorpoarted? She hasn't got a company name. I know this is not a great deal to go on, sorry! She wants something that looks classy but in black only to keep printing costs down. Can anyone help?
Thanks!!

The idea of a logo is to give the business an identity, without a name or idea what she calls herself like when people phone for an apointment she needs to come up with somthing to give herself this identity.
Hair by Liz or Liz's cutz anything. Another thing would be to avoide the mono printing, they are cheap yes but a colour leaflet will get more attention that a coloured peice of parer with just mono print. remember she will be using the logo on everything like letterheads, business cards all promo stuff and eventually if she opens a shop the front of a shop.0 -
I know, I have told her!
Maybe Hair by Liz I think!0 -
Or maybe "Classy cuts" ?0

I agree with little john, as an illustrator I'm often at a printers, now we are in the digital age printing costs are much cheaper as they don't have to be screen printed. If you want to avoid looking like a back street grimey hair dresser spend a bit of cash on a quality print, image is everything. A cheap black ink photocopy will speak volumes to clients and will turn people away. Look the biz and get the biz I say.A BEE STUNG MY BOTTOM... NOW MY BOTTOMS BIG :think:0

Thanks KK.
I know its sounds ill thought out so I'll explain more. My sis works as a hairdresser in a salon but has just accepted a job working in another salon but working 3 days and week instead of 4 so she wants to go mobile one day a week. She has everything she needs to do this and wants to print (quickly) some basic flyers/price lists as people are already requesting them and she is very keen to get started.
She wants something that look classy, probably the simpler the better really. I didn't tell her that I was going to put any kind of logo on it so thats why I'm not sure about a name but if I do a few differant ones maybe she will think its a good idea and go with one of them.
I think classy cuts would be a reasonable name. Or hair by liz. I was thinking of a plain black logo because of printing costs but as mentioned by other members that might be not a good idea.
Thanks again!!

Best thing's probably to get a colour logo that looks reasonable in greyscale - the best of both worlds.0

Well Liz's Scissors has a nice ring to it!
I'd go for 1 colour + black - it's the cheapest.
Any other ideas? I'll do a few and you can choose which one you like the most
