Hi everyone
For the past 10 years we've had sky and just a sky+ old white box connected to a tv with just scart lead
Well the tv packed up and we have now bought a new tv which has HDMI connections but the box doesn't
Talked to sky online and they said if I wanted a new Sky+HD box then id have to pay for it £199 :rotfl:
I thought being a customer for so long and having a really old box that doesn't connect with these new tv's and HDMI connections they would offer to replace it, but nope
any advice on how to get one or any advice suggestions?

I'd give them a ring and tell them you want to cancel and see if they offer you a free box.0

I was in a similar position but I wanted the on demand service which was only available on the HD box.
I just rang up to cancel my subscription after being with them for about 13 years.
They offered me a HD self install box but I had to accept another 12 month contract which I didn't mind because they threw in the HD pack for free for the 12 months

I tried that once and he said OK I will get it cancelled.
I waited a few weeks then got my partner to sign up in her name, she told them she had just bought the house.
It actually worked out to our advantage as we got a new customer deal and her brother recommended her and he got some vouchers..0 -
To get a meaningful offer from Sky you need to ask to cancel and then you get put through to retentions. Just asking for a new box as a 'loyal customer' is never going to work-the tier 1 agents don't have the authority to give out expensive freebies. Retentions do.
Failing that, ebay is your friend. No free lunch, and no free laptop
