Im sick of working

Options
im sick of working, i have no free time, no time to do as i please, if i have a day off im usually catching up on house work, i work 6 days a week and have no money, my wages are spent on travel, food and usual house expenses, i dont own my home i cant afford it.

peed off

i guess if i were on benefits id, have no money, lots of free time and catch up on housework, id have no travel or food expenses

so if i work = no money - pay all own bills and no time
if i dont work = no money - benefits pay bills - and lotsa time

hhhmmm

Do you have debt? Can you move to a cheaper area -and preferably closer to work-to cut down on housing and travel costs?

Do you manage your time effectively?

You are forgetting about self respect which is far more important than free time...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

  • Actually if you don't work and claim benefits it's most likely

benefits.. not enough to pay bills.. work anyway on workfare or some other 'scheme'.... run the risk of getting sanctioned and starve...

    Know what I'd prefer

Unless you have kids then benefits wont cover it anyway. -.-

I find it strange that you are saying you have NO money working 6 days...what are you working for if your not enjoying your life?

Perhaps you need to re vaulate your living expences and look to moving to cheaper location/shared if your on your own etc.
People don't know what they want until you show them.

I know what you mean. I feel like this sometimes. To be honest work gives me enough money to be relatively happy with what I have; I could have more but I don't do bad.

I do lack time though. Badly! I generally work 10 hour shifts Monday to Friday but with the commute it's 12 hrs out of the house. (7am-7pm) then by the time I've made tea and sat down I'm beat. Saturday is a day of food shopping and washing and Sunday I do the cleaning.

I wouldn't swap my life for benefits but at the moment I'm pregnant and trying to get the house in order and buy things and work just gets in the way.

I'd be interested in reading the responses to this thread though...there has got to be a better way to manage time! Chin up pal!

Being out of work is not an option.

You will be worse off in every measurable way, in addition unemployment eats into the very fibre of your soul and your self-esteem with evaporate though time.

Can you obtain qualifications to improve your lot?

Wouldn't you be bored with nothing to do? Don't underestimate this - I've recently been forced to stop working as I'm expecting a baby and had to go on mat leave early (long story, too long to explain here) and 6 weeks in I am so bored, trying to find things to do with myself, when working I dreamt of the day I would finish but it's a double edged sword I tell you. Every day is the same, I don't have the money to spend on entertainments, I have no structure to my life I cannot wait for the baby to come now (8 weeks to go)

Too much work is bad but not enough can be bad too.

OP I think you need to re-evaluate work life balance, do you have to work 6 days a week? believe me I would rather be working than not, you have a freedom to do what ever you like when working it enables you to enjoy your life. If you have no money then think about why you haven't got any money and the reasons for having no money.

I'm with you - working to exist/pay the bills! And the times I have not been working for whatever reason I have never, ever been bored! Work is like a prison sentence to me. Can't wait for retirement :)
