That's run by that bird who was on Dragons Den.

I don't think they invested, but when they went back to visit her, she was doing very well.

    That website is manic

I recently used lings cars to get a convertible golf. Really good service from start to finish and i would highly recommend. I asked at the start how long to get the car in the colour my wife wanted and it was delivered a week early. Lots of communication throughout the process so we knew exactly where we were.

I spoke to a couple of dealers who couldn't get near the price we are paying, but I guess they're not too interested in leases.

    The website is manic though.

I remember watching the programme where Duncan Bannatyne revisted Lings. I'm sure he said that she was barely breaking even after looking at the figures and that it wouldn't have been a good investment.

    Not quite.

He said he wouldn't have been happy with the investment based on the accounts she showed him - she was comfortably in profit and expanding, but not at the point he would have been seeing a return on his money yet. He also said that if she'd taken the money it would have been a differet story with him on board.

Almost seemed like there could have been a slight element of sour grapes for being turned down by her - especially after dropping the % he was willing to invest for.

As for reliability, I don't know - I've never had a car off her but I did have one of her free lunches, which turned up promptly and was almost as inedible as she warned it would be :rotfl:

Ling Valentine used to post on here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.php?u=61584 (without the necessary MSE permission as a company representative, I note!)

Quite a gutsy character but we soon saw her off.

It's like 1995 all over again!

    If Myspace did car leasing.....

Seriously, I'm all for a gimmick, but that site need obliterating and redoing from the ground up. You simply can't present complex financial information on a site like that. It's offputting.

It's not just her website that's insane, also her advertising campaigns! Didn't she once put a tank in a field near a main road advertising her website?

She's well and truly swam against the tide and it seems to be working well for her

Oh my god!! That website is even more shocking than I remember it to be. The spelling & grammar, poor quality pictures, the whole layout

Funny that it's extremely successful then. Clearly doing something right.
