Unknowing O2 Contract

After my iPhone 4 contract ran out last December I was contacted by an O2 saleswoman. I told her that I wanted to upgrade to an iPhone 5 when it came out. She then said that I could reduce my bill to a simplicity package while I waited. I agreed and now want to get an iPhone 5, unfortunately O2 have none in stock and Vodaphone are offering me a really good deal. I got all the way through the O2 transfer progress (where they confirmed they couldn't match Vodaphone) to get my PAC code, when I was told I am locked into a contract until this Dec - :mad:I NEVER EVEN KNEW I WAS IN A 12 MONTH CONTRACT!!! Does anyone know if there's anything I can do, I really don't want to fork out £60 to end my contract early.

You will have a hard time proving things. There is some versions of o2s sim only tariff that has a 12 month term. Two choices really fight it out and it may take months anyway or wait till the end of the term use the service then move to voda.0

What does your contract say? Some simplicity are 12 month, others are rolling monthly contracts0

Yep, mine is a simplicity 30 day and I've been on it for years, the 12 month offered more airtime, but what I get is ample and without being locked in, should a really good deal that suits me be advertised (I certainly wouldn't be buying from an incoming unsolicted call).0
