To me a 'job lot' is a big pile of things.

However, I've recently sold some things, and some of them are best sold as a group of between 3 and 6 items.

As I said earlier in this thread, there may be people who search for job lots.

I also dislike the term job lot, but I want to try and get as many search hits as I can.

So I use the term 'small lot'. Hopefully it gives the impression that it's a collection of things but it's only a small collection!

  • We're selling some "job lots" on Ebay just now, a few piles of DVDs and CDs. The only other ones we've done are for things that go together (games, gaming accessories etc.). I wouldn't get together a pile of !!!! and put it as a job lot, though.

Like when they're selling a cheap vacuum and put "like a Dyson" or whatever to grab everyone searching for Dysons. I am also annoyed by "job lot" and "bundle" when it's shorts and a t shirt, that's not a job lot, at best is an outfit.

Or "Brand new", then further down it says "only worn a couple of times..."

    SERIOUSLY?!?!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

That type of thing annoys me too. Seen mobile phones that have been used for months but as it was just a temp phone to them or they didn't like it and it perhaps has a case and/or screen protector they put it as new or new (other) rather than used.
