Just thought I would let you all know how it went and close off this thread for people wondering about disputing a mortgage decline. Disputing did work and they could give no valid reason why my mortgage offer was rejected days after it was rejected. After all the panicking the halifax didn't even do a final credit check before completion. We completed on 27th September - only because I complained to my solicitors. Took 13 weeks in total 14 weeks from offer acceptance to completion. Should never of took that long but thank god it's over. Advice to first time buyers - it's a very stressful process but once completed it's all worth it - make sure you chase your solicitors all the time otherwise you will never complete.0
