New Washing Machine frustration

Hi
I have a Hotpoint Aqualtis - new ish model it has a 30 and 60 degree short wash on it and the darks wash is 1.15 so not too long you can also reduce most wash times and you can do a 15 degree wash. The best thig about it is the whole wash cycle is silent though you do get a bit of noise during the spin. It even turns itself off after the wash which is fab as I often leave washing on when I go out to work. It also counts down the wash so you know how long you have until you need to put another load on.DMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

I am awaiting delivery of a Samsung ecobubble with 12kg drum so hoping to cut down on the number of washloads and for dd's clothes not to shrink.
Present machine is on its last legs and I have to keep checking it and adjusting settings for it to rinse or spin which is getting me down."This site is addictive!"

I'd love a cold wash function. A long time ago I lived in Hong Kong any they only ever used cold water in their machines. I never noticed a difference in my washing when I used cold water and I'd really like to have that choice now.0

My machines have a cold option but you'd need to use washing liquid as the powders wouldn't dissolve. I have had a basic Miele for 9 years. 40 degree quick wash = 40 minutes.
There are 5 of us and I do a lot of washing - touch wood I have never needed to have it repaired....
My previous hotpoint required the carbon fibre brushes changing at least once a year....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I have recently bought the Bosch Exxcel WAQ283S0GB from John Lewis (it was £70 cheaper than the current price on their website) and absolutely love it. A 40 degree wash, with the speed button pressed takes around 48 minutes and does a proper spin. It also has a delay timer which I thought I'd never use, but find it brilliant for putting a load in late at night and then setting it so that it's finished when I wake up.
It also has a 15 minute wash but that doesn't spin properly. A spin then takes a further 13 minutes.
I don't know much about other machines on the market, but one other thing I love about it is that it doesn't have a door open delay. As long as the water is below the lip of the drum the door can be opened at any time, which is great if you find a forgotten item after you've started the load.0 -

I have a similar one. I've had it two years, and I agree.
The only problem with it is the rubber seal doesn't full empy so there's a small [2 or 3 teaspoons] amount of water left in it bu this is easily remedied just by puling up the rubber ring so it drains into the holes.
I would also recommend Appliances Online for their service, and for their website. It's really easy to find things in the classes you are looking for. The reviews are honest too which is why despite knowing about the drainage thing [above] i bought onw anyway. The price was incredibly good too. And their delivery men were fab.
I've always had beko fridge freezers, and they were great, one is still working 15 years after purchase, so I decided to give their washing machines a try. Glad I did.

Mine does quick washes in less than an hour depending on what temp you select. A 7kg wash at 30c takes about 45 mins. It's a Beko, not expensive, has max spin at 1600 rpm. I'm very happy with it. Bought it from Appliances Online who offer a great service.
I recommend Appliances Online too. Brilliant service and choice, plus the reviews.
I bought a basic model B0sch from them. I have had it for about 5+ years with no problems. I chose the simplest, most basic B0sch on recommendation from a repairer who came out to my top of the range model a number of years back. He said that the most basic models have less to go wrong.
I have used the boil wash once, have used the 60c wash a couple of times, sometimes use the 40c wash (quick 36 mins) but my normal wash is the Quick Wash at 30c which takes 36 minutes.
I have used the cold wash function and intend to try to use that more often. I didn't find any problem with powder not dissolving but I use such a tiny amount anyway0
