Anyone using Atlantic?

Got a letter stating that due to new regulations in the energy industry Atlantic have to make changes to the tariffs on offer. They say my current deal with Atlantic will come to an end later this year (I'm only on a regular direct debit scheme, and paying 72 gas, 47 elec per month - so not sure what the 'deal' is). Atlantic have rebated of one month gas and one month elec each calendar year as a loyalty bonus, which was nice to have, and generally I've been satisfied with their service.
They're offering a fixed price 12 month deal with SSE and 50 off when I sign up. Does anyone using Atlantic know what will happen if I don't sign up?

Well I decided to use the MSE energy checker and it came up with Scottish Power as my best supplier, saving me around £40 per month, and £90 rebate after 3 months, so I switched.
I only ever stayed with Atlantic over many years because of the annual rebate of 1 month's payment each Christmas. Now that's gone I have no need to stay.0 -

I'm on the same deal and phoned them this morning. Basically what I was told was that if I didn't want to sign up with the fixed price deal with SSE then I could go with one of Atlantics present tariffs or change suppliers .0 -

£40 a month saving? That's almost £500 a year
(although you won't be getting 1 month free)
Evidence indeed that people should regularly check they are on the best deal for them.0 -

Can you post before and after tariff figures along with your annual consumption showing savings of around £40 per month? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I have been with Atlantic for several years too and decided it was time for a change. I have gone for the Cooperative as I was put off by other companies` poor customer srvice record. I prefer to be able to get through to the suppliers quickly and easily and without hassle.0

My current bills for Atlantic are £140 gas and £110 electric. This just about keeps me up to date with the annual usage.
Scottish Power/MSE calculation has said I need to now pay £211/month combined.0 -
I joined Atlantic energy when they took over my old supplier some years ago, but my old supplier started the "loyalty bonus" scheme which was continued with Atlantic this has now been going for almost 16 years, I haven't had a letter saying that it is stopping so will wait and see when I phone up for it in January 2014, had letter today with new increases, works out at 5.8% Gas and 6.8% Elec. so not too bad and can stomach that....0

Ofgem has brought a new rule out, which comes into effect from 1st January 2014, whereny energy companies can no longer offer existing customers cash discounts.
this is the reason for the free month stopping.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
