Have a look in the Citroen 2cv's glovebox, there may be a clue in there:D

There is a nice looking 2CV coming up on Copart, minimal damage by looks.
  • The opposite recently happened down my road. The family across the road were removing their outside toilet. First somebody came along and asked if they could take the bricks out of the skip and somebody else asked for the slates. By the time they came to fetch the skip all there was in it was a door, some broken glass and a few household items, all of which he could have taken to the tip himself.

I'm with Leif. My suspicion would lie with your builders, or next door's builders, or other trades they or you have had in to work on the property.

A skip turns up on the road and lazy !!!!!!s eye it to dump their crap. They'll spend more time observing when no one is around the skip than just driving it to the local recycling centre.

I think the issue is that trades get charged if they drive a van load of stuff to the local refuse/recycling centre.

Well to start with my local reuse/recycling centre won't take trade waste (or what they arbitarily decide is trade waste based soley on which side of the bed they got out of this morning) and won't allow vans in on certai days even if they aren't carying trade waste. Secondly you are correct. The trade waste places around here charge a minimum cost per dump (cheapest around here is £ 50) up to a half a tonne then incremental above that.

IMO its more likely that its one of the "clear your old rubbish out for £ 60 guv'nor" oiks who having pocketed the dosh can't/won't take the risk of flytipping so do the next best thing (as far as they are concerned) and finds an empty skip. Driving round for 20 minutes to find one is no skin off their nose.

    Cheers
