Check your supermarket for "for sale" cards. I got my B&O receiver and turntable for £65 from an ad I saw there.

It was a Safeway thirty years ago so GOK what it'd be now (the only other supermarket in your town was a Sainsbury's back then). I hope it's a better range now.:)

I just tried to find out where safeway used to be. Then decided that I could probably find something more useful to do :)

I did discover that the first Safeway in the UK was opened here though.

We have much more choice now: Tesco, Waitrose, Lidl, Aldi as well as Sains. Shortly to be joined by Morrisons. All we'll need then is an Asda and we'll have pretty much the full set :)

I can join in the B&O conversation.... I think I saw one once (can't be sure though), about 30 years ago.

My parents have an old (possibly older than me) B&O tv in their lounge. They must have bought it before they became [STRIKE]tight[/STRIKE] careful with their money as it must have cost a small fortune. I used to babysit for our then next-door neighbours. It was really funny the first time I went round to theirs as they also had an aged B&O tv, which had an identical looking remote control to ours.

Ah, stuffed picnic loaf. Always fancied one of those, although I'd have to make it as others would put funny stuff in it.

I've seen a couple made on the telly.

That's really weird. 30 years ago I also bought a B&O receiver and turntable from an ad. Still have turntable in the loft somewhere, needs a new belt.

I sold it when I moved ('85), got a mate to put an ad up in his workplace, where at least one NP currently works.

Lady who bought it turned up with her brother, does this ring any bells?

Actually ads in workplaces have worked out well for me in the past. Found good accommodation that way when relatively new in London.

Pan bagnet has Nicoise salad ingredients in it. Otherwise what you want so long as it goes together. :). Its worth doing. You could do it with rolls and have it for lunch every day for a week. Yum.

Don't fancy those fishy bits. Never had/seen one of those. Heard the name on the telly a few times, but never knew what it was.

FC - I was going to mention that I would be interested in anything they no longer want. Ie not essay I want for free, but not offer over the remainder of my wallet.
I had figured (hoped)) that they would leave a lot of the furniture. It's not great but would be a good stop gap.
    Thoughts?
Just say they don't need to clear the place out if they don't want to.
This was something that made me mad about one of my parents' decisions. They'd bought a sofa some years before, nothing specific "just a sofa" and when the material became threadbare they paid £700 to have it recovered .... a brand new/better one would have cost less! And, as it was old (and from Courts, so not 'fab' quality) it only lasted another 5 years or so before they had to buy another anyway. Next one cosrt £300 and was at the stage where it needed to be replaced (collapsed, ripped, springs coming through, food spills) .... thankfully, before we'd got round to doing that, the whole thing kicked off and it ended up being part of house clearance. It would have been a major nuisance if I'd been trying to clear the house while awaiting a new sofa delivery!

I know, when I say we are having the old ones recovered it all sounds so sensible and frugal......
Firs beard would be horrendous. Left untended not only would he have a monobrow but his beard almost reaches his eyes, and his forehead gets stray hairs. He's like one of those wolf people. He is very worryingly hirsute. He wasn't when I met him....just normally on the hairy side...although he was the hairiest of my lovers. Now he's like cuddling a wolf hound in bed.
Mine is a wolfman too......if he grew a beard he would look like a Goa Guru in 6 months I think.
He did grow his hair once and in 8 months it was long, black, thick and glossy (like Cheryls) but it didn't suit him really. He used to tie it back in a ponytail but then looked a bit 'Columbian baddie in a movie' style.

We will be embarking on The Great Male Body Hair Removal Experiment shortly, specialising in the removal of male body hair and the after effects (rashes, stubble etc) and final finish.

I have done a few experiments on him over the years and he does not respond well to hot waxing (full body rash endured whilst we were on holiday as I got him waxed 5 days prior).
