I have to do school run in a few minutes. Dreading it!
I have too many school runs today. I took DD to school this morning. On the way there she remembered that she brought her PE kit home on Monday, caked with mud, but didn't tell me about it, and she needed it for netball after school. So I went back at 3.15 to deliver the PE kit. I am now about to go back and collect her at 4.15. Then at 6.00 I shall have to take her to Brownies, and at 7.15 I'll need to pick her up. That's 5 journeys, total 20 miles.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Difficulty about being cold is it is worse when you're not moving about.
When you're ill, you don't want to move, which exacerbates the problem.
Hot sweet tea is the order methinks! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I had one friend who, with her brothers, walked the full 3 miles across open countryside, wtihout a pavement or lighting and with a narrow road. And when they got home they were living in a caravan.
We were definitely 'arder back then :P0 -
I may have stumbled across this through you guys in the first place, a few years ago, but even if I did, I think it's worth posting as it still makes me laugh really hard

This is weather that those with huge open-plan houses with vaulted ceilings wish they lived in a 1 bed flat0

She would have walked if we'd still been living in the house where we were when we chose the primary school. By the time I bought this house DS was in year 5, so I chose with secondary catchment in mind rather than primary. Now that DS is at the secondary school, he walks to it, but I'm still dropping DD by car on my way to work.PasturesNew wrote: »This is weather that those with huge open-plan houses with vaulted ceilings wish they lived in a 1 bed flat
Agreed. I don't entirely understand why some parts of my house are so much warmer than other parts, but happy that my bedroom seems to be one of the warmer bits. I think random people keep turning off the radiators in other parts of the house.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
