The advert the care home put in the paper? One article I read said he was a quiet person and a bit of a loner. I'm sure the people who did turn up for the funeral felt they were doing a good deed, but it does make me wonder whether he looked down from above in horror at all the people gathered and wished he'd been allowed to go quietly.
But you have to question who/why they randomly put an advert in for him. They must have loads passing through without relatives (and this bloke HAD a relative). I am just intrigued as to the route and decisions between start and end of the process.

Shamefully I only got 76% London, lost points on the Red Rockin question and the link between Bank and Waterloo I think.
    What is Red Rockin?

    I got 0% Northern though :o

You know what? I never have a problem sleeping, even when I am mid mega drama/stress/ hassle but am struggling at the mo.

Oh well, can't sit up either so nite all.
    Night

What is the answer to Red Rockin?

I'd have guessed you drink it, but that wasn't an option!

I started Xmas shopping at the weekend - got the first 7 presents. Plus got the makings of advent calendars for this year. The plan is to put a Xmas decoration in an envelope for each kid on each day so they can put a decoration up each day up until Xmas. If rather that than spend $50 each on a Lego advent calendar or, worse, a chocolate each morning.

WE have a shared advent calender because I think the sharing/delayed gratification is good for the DKs and it reduces the chocolate intake by one third.

    Isn't trading a young person's thing?
Why do some people insist on saying "baby" when what they mean is "the baby".

I think it is probably the most irritating thing, EVER.
You've heard me talking about DW then :o

I selected a load more things to quote but of course fell foul of the max 3 multiquote thang.

FC and Bugslet I am sure whatever happens will be for the best.

We had a nice supper at the Sloop in Bantham summer before last after a great day on the beach...it is Devon though so in the week we were there that was the only day it didn't rain.

Nikki I'm glad you are enjoying your home, you are being remarkably restrained in not joining in some of the groin thrusting threads on this board....

Edit - only ever been to one royal movie premiere, Prince Charles was there I think, movie was called 'Slipstream' - anyone remember it? Thought not.
    I think....

    Wow, how amazing FC !

It's her 1st one with him....he doesn't always get a spare ticket for them.

The last one OH and son went to see Expendables and they were both totally start struck as Arnie, Stallone, van damme (SP?) and another couple (can't remember the names) were there and they are OH and sons movie idols.
OH filmed them inches away from him and neither noticed the
    strange facelifts.
He was allowed to film their talk intro in the cinema as well.

Some of the answers are out of date but it compliments the 'how northern are you?' Quiz.

    http://www.gotoquiz.com/how_london_are_you

I am 82% London. Combined with my northern score, this makes me 107% something.

My combined score was 147%. I was born in Yorkshire and lived within the M25 for over 5 years so perhaps that explains it!

We didn't have chocolate advent calendars; we had the ones where you opened a door and there was a picture.... wise men, stars, donkeys, baby Jesus. They were "the norm" where I lived.

    Even LESS choccie intake!

    46% London

Mostly from having lived in Oxford, from which London was regarded as a reasonable distance to go once or twice a year if there was something you wanted to do that really wasn't available in Oxford. Oh, and visiting a good friend who's moved to London (via Cambridge and Australia) since I knew her in Oxford.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

If we're looking at combined scores, I think I'm up to 58%, so the remaining 42% must be Fen Yokel :)
