Ah good - a course should have long-term benefits.

I like laundry, easiest household chore IMO.
The trouble I have with it over the years has been timing. I can only put a washing machine on in daylight hours (fear of fire) .... and, preferably, when it's not raining outside. Working full-time that's always limited and restricted the ability to do washing when I want to.

Then there's not being able to go out once the machine's on. That usually meant washing might only be done Saturday afternoons, or Sundays. Then, there's the issue of whether it'll dry in time before I need to wear it again.

It's easier now of course.... but wasn't before.

Better avoid Israel, then - most restaurants are Kosher, which means that you can't ever mix dairy food and meat food in the same meal, and if you want tea or coffee after your meat meal, you can't have milk in it.
Not difficult. Couldn't point to it on a map and never been abroad .... so I won't be going :)

I never have coffee after a meal - I hate coffee as it's too strong/bitter/nasty. I drink instant granules - and black.

No dairy would mean you can't have Yorkshire puds with your roasts!!

No meat pizza, no butter in meat sandwiches, etc. No cakes made with anything like butter or cream within 4 hours of meat, either.

I'm married, love jewellery. Currently reawakening an old interest in making jewellery in a small way. Have all the gear but it was a fad and I tired of it.

What sort of jewellery do you make? It's an interest PN and I both share with you.

I'd be happy to have no meat on a pizza and no butter in meat sandwiches (although I'd probably not be eating meat sandwiches). Not a big cake eater - I'll eat it if it's offered, but I don't go looking for it.

My interest is more "on hold" until I've the money for supplies/tools and the light/space to be able to do something worthwhile and have a permanent little corner for it all.

If I were wealthy I'd have played tennis over the years - looked into the prices 3-4 years ago but it was expensive.

    .

When my OH was a little boy, his dad marked him out a tennis court on their council house lawn. Mr Spirit knitted himself a tennis net for it.

His club tennis now costs about £100 per year, no other fees.
Some folk who play at the club have played there for 30 odd years....in the same kit, with the same racquet.

His social tennis is in a barn one night a week all year round with the annual cost split between the four who play. That is £980 between them. Oh and the cost of the beer afterwards.

I've still not been to an Ikea so all this talk is a mystery to me!

Ex hubby popped into my parent's last night to see the boys, he is having them on Thursday to see a film....unfortunately, it is the same night as parents evening. I will go alone as I think the school may well understand why middle son is not there, a once in a year experience of spending time with his father!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Any idea what the rationale is for no mixing of meat and dairy? Is an explanation given or is it simple fear of being on the wrong end of a smiting?

The one I looked at was £245/year to join. Outside grass courts were free for members; floodlighting was £6/hour.

Indoor courts were £14-17/hour for members playing together.

4 balls cost £8. I'm guessing 4 balls would last a few years..... I certainly never lost/broke one of mine bashing it against a wall.
