Is Talbot woods expensive? Always has such a shabby sounding name - and it's never come up on the "places people want to live" when I've googled for lists/ideas of where's good/bad.Posh alert to you! - Talbot woods!
I've driven through it .... and got confused - there's a lack of signage so you don't know where you are now - and you can't find where you're going to on any of the signs.
It's near studentland ... and they're annoying and the areas are shabby.0 -

It wasn't so much the annexe that confused me, more that the house had been split into a front half and back half! I only noticed when I was trying to look up previous sale figures. I guess a lot of other people couldn't understand it either hence it is still for sale.0 -
Ah - yes - lots of those around here too.It wasn't so much the annexe that confused me, more that the house had been split into a front half and back half! There was one "quite nice" place a couple of miles away, £180k.... and then you read it and realise it's a single storey extension to a house, in their garden..... and they've been renting it out as a holiday let and are now selling it. But, not only is it peculiarly placed in their garden, without a drive/parking access ..... but it was also priced for the "holiday lettings" market.
I'm sure living on site they could let it out easily/manage it - but others wouldn't be able to manage it so easily .... so it was a bit overpriced and peculiar all round.
I'll see if I can find it - it's gone from RM.0 -

That's the only house I've ever seen like that. There are lots of big old houses around here that have been split into flats, but not like that!0 -
I also don't want a council tax band D property - I find a band C works out equivalent to a 10% income tax... band D turns me off somewhere entirely.0

I think they've started doing them because a house is worth more than a flat, so if you've got a traditional semi you can squeeze a few extra quid out of it if you split it back to front, rather than as two flats. Too many flats in most areas, so that's their solution. That's the only house I've ever seen like that. I've just found a flat with balcony/sea views and a garage, in budget. Might be persuaded to forget I hate flats for a garage and a sea view .....
That's what I call a "proper sea view" - in that you can actually walk to the cliff edge within 3 minutes of leaving the front door.... and the beach is sandy.... but it's down some steps (not a flooding area though).
Although the (small) balcony does overlook the busy main road... so won't be a quiet spot to sit.0 -

Needs to be: sandy beaches, good roads, train line potential, potential to get a job that pays well (well = £18-21k). Access to all the major discount shops, including a huge Asda.
Suffolk is quite nice and in our area, very close to Essex and all that has...biggest bonus is the house prices, for the same amount that has been linked to, you can get a nice 3 or 4 bed semi!
Big Asda is about 20 minutes up the road, big Tesco is about the same, job prospects from the docks, not bad train links. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Right - never looked at flats before.... I think I will look at flats in one area as there are loads of them that offer gardens and garages... but no sea view.
The sea view one was a "no go" as it's up two flights of stairs and the sea view is across a busy junction and you can't really see a lot unless you're on the balcony with binoculars.0
