Assuming you don't have twins which makes it less of an achievement perhaps we are seeing another NP pattern, two of our DKs have the same birthday too.
However nothing to do with wedding anniversaries for us, DW and I celebrate neither anniversaries nor birthdays.
Eldest son was due 17th September (a result of a red wine soaked Christmas eve on now ex hubby's behalf) but born 3rd October.
Middle son was due 3rd October (a result of a pretty bad snow covering) but born 17th October.
Youngest was a holiday baby.....and a total surprise. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Down in the Shire eh? That's Sydney's equivalent of Norfolk. It's a bit cut off from the rest of Sydney and they're seen as a bit odd down there. I actually quite like the area but it really is quite insular.0 -
Hospital haven't sent me a letter so I'm trying to chase that up while getting progressively more stressed. Private are being disorganised, normally its their forte to be organised.

Yep! That was my first question..James said she can have his bed and he will sleep in a sleeping bag on his bedroom floor. Middle son is a little eek about the thought though but mainly because he is worried about whether they might decide to get cuddly during the night and the fact he will have to get dressed straight away in the morning lest she sees him in his boxer shorts :rotfl:
If I was the GF going to stay at BF's house for the first time I would prefer to sleep on a sleeping bag on the sofa than share a room with BF and his brother. In fact if presented with that in advance I would probably make my excuses and not visit! Interesting. Why is that? The only person I know who doesn't celebrate those things is a guy at work who's a Muslim. He tells me birthdays are unislamic, I think, because not mentioned in the Koran. I think they're OK for reform Jews (is that the right term?) but not for some other varieties of Jews. Is that right? I do know there's only one birthday mentioned in the Old Testament and one in the New Testament, both of which are associated with executions, so not exactly positive precedent.
I thought the only people who don't celebrate birthdays were jehovah's witnesses.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Saying Egypt in all seriousness. I've booked the whole family flights and 12 days all inclusive in a trip advisor highly rated hotel for £1400 after cashback. Going a little after you.
The northern lights are worth the cold!
We thought of Egypt, then we thought that there must be safer times to go than now.
I know the northern lights would be worth the cold, but we can't seem to muscle up enthusiasm for them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We (note the global "we") have less than 24 hours to come up with a 50th birthday present for OH.
The unicycle idea has been soundly rejected.
Fall back position is that we have decided to go away for my birthday weekend as a joint present. Which is a joint present to each other.
We were thinking of going to see the northern lights, but we want some sun, so have rejected that in favour of somewhere warm. OH has come up with Marrakesh, anyone been there? I'm trying to appear enthusiatic, but really it doesn't look exactly my thing and the temperature isn't that warm in 6 weeks time.
We were considering Morocco recently (holiday at end of nov) but the more I read on trip advisor the more I didn't want to go anywhere near it. That is more because my ideal holiday is all inclusive and involves never leaving the resort than being anti-Morrocan. We did consider Egypt as well but I was put off by the fact that all the trip advisor reviews suggested that the only people going there at the moment are British and others are staying away which means that some of the hotels are half shut down (and all the other guests are British and therefore just as obnoxious as me).
We settled on Mexico in the end more because we were getting fed up of wasting so much time researching our holiday.0 -
Why not?
My two are both born on the first day of tax quarters, slightly amusing as I am married to an accountant.
My Dad once worked out there were the same number of days between my birthday and sister #1's, and sister #1's birthday and sister #2's. It must have been a really boring day in court......Only child treatment! NDG's Isaac gets it all the time, but for people with more than one child, OCT is the way to go.
Just back (a few mins ago, literally!) from holiday, and the big news is that we entered Jerusalem through the Damascus Gate and exited through the Dung Gate.
I have no idea what's been going on, except that NDG has had some good news, but what? So congrats to her, and congrats to anyone else that needs it/commiserations likewise.
My good news is connected to Isaac's future as a not-only-child (-: He doesn't know yet, though, we're waiting to get beyond 12 week scan before we tell him.
WE've stayed fairly often close to the Damascus Gate - in the American Colony. Have you been there? It's lovely. OH has just booked tickets to take Isaac to Jerusalem for Passover, but I certainly won't be able to go, I'll be 8 months' pregnant by then.
Have you read Simon Sebag Montefiore's book about Jerusalem?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Sounds like a prison for white collar criminals more than a holiday....;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I agree. I can change the plugs, fuses and tyres myself. It's far too difficult finding a good bloke without ruling any out on non-essentials.
Sounds very sensible. My Dad is a very, very intelligent and hard-working man, just useless at practical stuff. When he's very involved in something, the world sort of floats about around him - one winter, he kept forgetting to take something early in the morning, and so my mother left it on the toaster so that he would have to move it when he got his breakfast, and then remember to take it. He lifted it up, put bread in the toaster, and put the stuff back on top - cue one toaster on fire, and entire family yanked out of bed at 5.30am by the smoke alarm.Interesting. Why is that? Oh's fairly Orthodox family in Israel do celebrate birthdays - and, of course, the Bar Mitzvah is a celebration of coming to manhood, on the Sabbath nearest one's 13th birthday (in theory, although it can move about a few weeks)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
