That's so funny, that's exactly why I tell DH we are middle aged and he gets really cross with me, :rotfl:0 -
I'm really sorry, I recognise the rudeness of this and hope you all forgive me
doozergirl! my email is down for some reason. Plumber hasn't been this week, (I have a cheque sitting here waiting for him too) So that probably impacts on your timescales.0 -

I'm with you - no point denying the maths of it.
Company meeting all day - wish I didn't find these things so boring, still at least it means I finish at 5.30 in St AlbansAlso out to lunch 3 days in a row - last time I ate out (or indeed had a bought lunch) was 6 months ago for the last company meeting.
I think....0 -
Ok, yes, its definitely going to be (removed). Could do afternoon, or for those of you with jobs.....oh, that's everyone who is a potential but me right?
, early evening? I'll probably be a bit tired, so if we arrange something can it be somewhere we'd be able to sit down, rather than stand at a bar.
Anyone around then? No body panic if not.0 -
I might be, won't know until nearer the time. I'm in court on the 15th at Taylor House (near Islington) and on the 16th at York House, in Feltham, and as Monday night is Afghan night (work until very late night, for me) I might well be absolutely knackered by the evening of 15....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

My Granny followed it up with, "old age begins, and middle age ends, when your descendants out-number your friends". As she was someone who kept her friendships in good repair, she never felt in danger of old age, I think. She had 6 descendants, and many more mates than that.
My Dad enjoyed her 80th birthday party, because he said there weren't that many occasions any more where his attendance lowered the average age significantly, but he was the 5th (probably) youngest person there, in a crowd of about 60 people. I say "probably" because his 4 children were definitely the youngest 4 present, but my aunt's age is a deeply-guarded secret, so we don't know if she grabbed 5th place or not....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
