Their store locator says Ipswich is your nearest (10-12 miles). First Floor, Buttermarket Shopping Centre IP1 1DT.
Next is Colchester.
Yep, that's the one that is no longer there...a new cinema is planned. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

'Pie, pint and a women for £10.'
"Aye - but whose pies are they ? "
For those who do not listen to the 'Today' programme on Radio 4, this is English humour at its best...
Right at the end of the program recently, there was a discussion about the obscene cost of entry into Premiership football games - the cheapest ticket £60 and £100 per game is common. An older chap being interviewed said he could recall many years ago arriving at the turnstile at West Ham United to be told, "That will be 10 quid mate".
"What!" the old chap said "I could get a woman for that!"The guy on the turnstile said, "Not for 45 minutes each way you wouldn't - and a brass band in the Interval!"As the pips sounded on the hour John Humphries could be heard in the background in stitches0 -
I thought it was standard practice for big companies when sued in small claims court, fail to defend and then apply for judgement to be set aside. Do you know if they are good for any damages you might eventually be awarded?
This is not big business. The impact on his credit rating etc of this is not good, and local company means mud could stick, badly.....should it care too. Bear in mind too, that they have started running round saying we couldn't pay them so thats why they didn't finish. its come back to us originally in a letter, but subsequently from a few people advised not to do any work for us, as we weren't good for the money. Never, ever, have not paid. We might raise a query on work, but we ALWAYS pay for work done, and extra costs as and when they arise. We don't buy what we cannot afford. We're quite happy to let that one run ATM. I'm admittedly so tight I squeak when I move, but have never been dishonest about paying in our lives , and if they want to run that and we can show the monies are available for the thing in court (and no monies are due on the thing! As it was never commissioned, all stage payments were paid! Ultimately, that they are spouting that looks far worse for them (in the short term) than it does for us.
They are now saying they thought their solicitors were dealing with it. (Its ever taken them a week from judgement being given to complain) . Thus their issue should be with their solicitors really.
Is he (they) good for it? Well.....thats tricky. Obviously due diligence confirmed its worth doing this, but what shuffling is being done now who knows. We applied for immediate payment so could have called bailiffs at any time in this week.
If he appeals and it goes t o court we are still in a good place as we stand to be awarded more. (We actually presumed they had very poorly handled not going to court for the smaller financial amount they'd have to stump up if they lost).
The court is quite likely to be unimpressed that the set deadlines were missed tbh with no response bar the first one.
We'll see. Its all a bit of an adventure, huh?0 -

Trying to think of something other than Homesense now. Homeware heaven!
One of the issues they have had with clothing is that there are loads of other ways to offload a cancelled order or 'mistake' styles now and at far better prices than they will pay. Numerous websites are now up and running selling clearance in volume but brands don't like their markdowns sat there online for ages but, I will delete later, many suppliers don't supply them any longer as they can get a better price elsewhere.
Many big labels just clear it themselves online instead.
I have done 3 clearance batches with them but wouldn't do it again.. I think the last one was 18 months ago. 70% of my PO went to European stores.
A lot of it is 'clearance' made to order as well.......but you can spot the genuine clearance in clothing.
I know the homewares is growing really well, maybe it will takeover the clothes soon.PasturesNew wrote: »My old's got a cancer check today; sibling phoned her last night, then phoned me and said "HELP" as she'd got such nonsense from the old on the phone. Old thinks she's seeing somebody different today "last one was useless... seeing TOP person this time". Her reality's not spot on as it's most likely the same person - and the last person wasn't useless.
Awww..hope she's OK PN. Are you going back down there soon?
Cars? How about a Polo?0 -
The clothes rummage gets me down at tk Maxx. Like the huge second hand book warehouses do, I like clothes, I like books...but filtering through all the junk for a gem is just too much like panning for gold sometimes.
I've been looking on places like etsy for knitwear too. See very little. Ironically, the Chinese sellers on etsy seem to have loads.....coats in many styles etc etc.0 -

It was a year old had done 8,000 miles and still had two years manufacturers warranty left. I purchased it for £6,500 which was half the price when new. Unfortunately these bargains aren't around anymore. Some of the prices I've seen stuff go for has amazed me,the second hand market seems very buoyant at the moment.
I'll probably break my golden rule and buy a new next year.
I think it was reported last week that the used car market is back about where it was pre-slump. So that makes sense.
I bought new last year after saying I wouldn't do it again. Waited 10 years, did it again, regret it again.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That way for bosses or potential employers or anyone else dubiously interested...most likely searches we reckon are done by aunts and cousins:). He appears, but no running commentary on life.
Edit...its my fear on the work aspect...that clients refer to things about our lives if that's how we do it. Think its worth doing though. The question is when.....now? I don't want any clients until spring now...should I put up a facebook page and look coolly unavailable with a no current availability until spring?
Fake lives that would pass muster.0
