Doozer boy almost killed himself here with an angle grinder....missed by a fraction.
DH tiled our bathroom in London, he did an amazing job. For which, quite frankly I read, if its simple enough, anyone handy could do it. DH is blessed in many ways........but.......0 -

We have floor tiles that need regrouting - how easy is that - for some reason tiling is a DIY task I have never fancied so I have neither tiled nor grouted in my life.
It is easy but boring. I tiled and grouted a couple of floors in my old house and I am not very able in the field of DIY. My memory is that the best thing to do is buy the biggest tiles possible.0 -
I'd not want to tile floors, for many reasons. I just thought it looked a bit of a doddle doing wall ones potentially ... then I remembered there's cutting and stuff which I wouldn't fancy.0

Nah, she'll never find out. At least, we won't tell her. The best thing is to keep very quiet about it, so she doesn't worry. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Ah, I meant doozer husband, rather than doozer kid.:D
Though I still think she'd have been horrified!0 -
Are you quite sure that he's charging you more now? He may be getting exactly the same as before, but it's more visible now. http://www.out-law.com/page-10960
Well he claims he is charging the same as before as in the same percentage, but as the pot grows that means more money for the same work. So really when you have given someone a bigger pot to watch over the percentage should be lower. Also, that percentage may have seemed reasonable once, but the IFAs on the savings board think it OTT in today's market and the recommended online reading that the IFAs all quote has half the percentage rate as ongoing fees. Plus there is a churning issue that OH is unhappy with.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. No such thing as NMW on a building site if you want any work doing! It's a pretty specialised job - takes great care and time, or a lot of experience. Bricks are porous - if you get the mortar in the wrong place, it makes an almighty mess like a badly decorated cake. People charge by the metre, so the pay would depend on how quickly you could do a decent job.lostinrates wrote: »Ah, I meant doozer husband, rather than doozer kid.:D

He didn't really get the sympathy he was looking for when he got home. He had a lump on his head which I didn't notice. It's hard to explain nearly dying to someone who thinks you look fine.
For future reference, he now knows that milking stalls are stronger than they look.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Omg, how could you not have noticed that????:eek:
Doozer kid is a hard worker too, but seemed pretty intent on destroying his clothes when here, might want a career in fc's line of work......ripped workwear.0
