I love veg crisps.
But I can't fry them (fat) and I have problems with lots of veg too:rotfl:
Tonight I'm eating courgettes and aubergines cooked in a dish, not like ratatouille...but drier. I'm making a pn artichoke and mozzarella tart too. I'll eat the veg and keep my fingers crossed, because nightshades might be a problem and aubergines are a nightshade, and I'll probably throw a tomato in.
The thing is, until I know for sure I can only do so much. Avoiding carp I do reasonably well anyway, with lapses, but I can cease to lapse. But once we have for d out what the issues are and how impact ful they are I'll make a decision. If its like.....well....you'll live six months longer if you give this stuff up, then stuff it...I'll keep enjoying it at weekends. If its well, eat it and die then its a bit more complex, because the whole 'die when?' Comes into play. If I am going to have a short life anyway, frankly, I'll eat cheese thank you very much. But in many respects, as you all know, I have been doing better and better.
I am well into overtime and not feeling like it at all. Not one bit, I feel tired and often weedy and weak,, but not at all 'deathly':D. So if I have to give up cheese and other stuff and live of some strange stuff and I get to stay normal ish for the foreseeable future it seems a bit of a no brainer....
At least then when it goes down hill I can look forward to cheese;)0 -
Finally found something in my recipe collection. Carrot Fudge.

Just uses carrots, gelatine, orange essence.
You might not FANCY it .... but it doesn't contain stuff you listed (probably).

Bad reactions to milk IIRC can be due to proteins in cows milk causing allergies (possibly swellings). I think some people first detect it when they produce excess mucus from eating cheese but I'm sure Nikkster's much more up-to-date in the medical aspects of this. Not sure how many species' milk it applies to.
Quite a few people don't make enough enzyme to break down lactose in milk and this makes them prone to diarrhea and gas as the gut bacteria break it down. I don't think cheese and yoghurt and other fermented milk products casue so much of a problem.
We buy the enzyme Lactaid in the chemists when we want to do latase experiments at work.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Sorry to hear about new food issues lir. Is it something else (ie tiredness/not enough sleep/pills at wrong time) rather than food as if food intolerance come and go it might be your body not being able to respond rather than you having the actual intolerance.0 -

I thought I had liver failure, so that gives a clue as to symptoms, other tests, mentions give other clues. What gastroenterologist thought was ibs type thing echoing some of my other neurological symptoms it would be odd if I didn't have ibs type issues...but I've always just thought that's sort of normal.
Like most women I would've eat bread or pasta a couple of days before a big event for example...for bloating. Last Christmasish there was a big change ( whe I fell out with coffee) and I put it down to minor food intolerance or something, then when I mentioned it it was pointed out it could be gi or neurological, so that's wy the GI referral and all these tests. The GI was certain it was going to be related to function of gut (like ibs) because of my history.
I have been to hospital four times for more serious reaction and allergies (when the swelling when beyond lips and more towards throat and breathing restriction), but they always change.......I know I struggle with Thai food, so even though I love lemon grass I am wary of it in case its that. I have even wondered if its some sort of thing that only happens in combination!
Anyway, we'll see. No point trying to guess before all the results are in I suppose..

Here's another recipe ... remember those jellies made in oranges/lemons? So when the jelly is set you cut them like wedges?
Well this uses apples and chocolate, but is trickier
Cut an apple in half, cut/scoop out all the middle so you're left with a substantial edge (thick enough to not fall apart). Fill with chocolate. Let them cool. Slice into wedges and eat.0
