for a desktop, there are few disadvantages with wired.
    But closed said disadvantages????????

I interpreted Closed's post as saying there are very few disadvantages with a wired one. I'm sorry I should have spotted that you didn't want any suggestions for a wired one, but just thought for that price you might want to give it a go.

correct interpretation, never seen the point of battery powered ones, unless you're the other side of the room

I used a wired one until about a year ago and wouldn't go back because it is great not to have to worry about the cord becoming caught in paperwork etc. I work mainly from home and so have lots of paperwork on my desk. If I used a mouse on a clutter-free desk then a wired one would be fine (I use a wired one when I go in to the office and it is fine.)

It's not high on my worry list, but batteries and crappy connections would be high on the annoyance list, as would an untidy desk :D

I use rechargeable batteries and only need to change them every 3 or 4 months or but yes, if I used my mouse away from home (which I don't) then I would have to ensure I always had spares.

I have not noticed any difference in connection at all.

Ha ha, just noticed your quip about an untidy desk, but in my defence, I have a lot of paperwork and a very small office as my house is small (and I have to share my desk with my husband).

Hi electra, yes, sorry you are right. I read it wrong and put 'a' in front of few.
    Sorry again.

Yes I definitely want a wireless, haven't had any problems until this one. Probably my fault as I forget to turn it off. It does say the battery should last 6 months, but that's not long compared with my old ones.
